You shuddered as the shot rang from the conference room next door. "Everybody out the fire escape, now." You ordered in a shaky voice, pointing to the window as you hoisted yourself onto your scooter. "O-Okay." Leon muttered, being obedient for once as he began ushering the kids toward the glass. Emil looked to you in horror. "What about you?" He whispered. "Babe, if it's who we think, he's here for me. I don't want anybody else getting hurt." You said, taking his hand.

"But what if you..." He trailed off. "I'll be okay." You said, pushing him toward the window, where Leon was helping kids get on the ladder, "Go on. I'll be down soon."

Emil looked to them, his eyes watering. "But-" He whispered before you cut him off with a kiss. "Babe, please." You said, holding up your left hand to show the promise ring, "I'll be okay. I promise."

Emil squeezed your hand silently, leaning in to kiss you softly for a moment before turning to join Leon in climbing down the fire escape ladder after the kids. You rolled over to make sure they were all safely getting down, then silently closed the window and turned around to roll towards the door.

He had his back to you, surveying the room for any signs of life. "Hey there." You said sarcastically, your wheels bumping noisily through the doorway. He whipped around and looked at you with faint surprise.

"Oh god, oh god, the kids..." Francis whispered as Ralph surveyed the room, visible from the broken window. A noise came from across the room. "Hey there." Your voice said. Arthur fainted, falling from his chair limply onto the floor. Everybody remained frozen.

"There you are." He said , letting the gun he held fall to his side. "Yep. In the flesh. Been a while, hasn't it Ralphie?" You smirked. "Yeah. Since..." Ralph muttered. "Ralph?" Alfred whispered.

"Since I killed your lady friend? Ah, that brings back memories." You laughed, wheeling towards him, "So, what brings you 'round these parts? Revenge?"

"Yeah." Ralph said, holding up the gun. "Ah, an eye for an eye." You muttered. The broken window caught your eye. "Did you kill anyone already?" You frowned. "No. Your father tried to say you weren't here. Didn't hurt him, just scared him." Ralph said quietly. "Ah, good. You better not fucking touch him." You said casually, "Anyway, back to the whole 'revenge for murdering you lady' thing."

"...Why'd you do it?" Ralph whispered. You could see through his sunglasses his eyes were obviously watering. "She was tryna kill me, man. You know I hate not having the last laugh." You sighed, "Where'd you even go after? You've been away for a while."

"That's none of your concern." Ralph stated, "But was killing her necessary?"

"She had a gun to my head!" You snorted, "I would've been happy to just let her do it, but it had been a while since I had something to stay alive for."

"Oh? What's that?" Ralph sniffed, "What was worth killing her for?"
