Chapter 4
Amy
We hit down in Scotland just before midday. I was surprised that my seat didn't have claw marks all up and down the arm rest. Now I knew why I had never been on a plane or why I wasn't keen to go on the high ropes on school excursions. I had a fear of heights.
I stumbled my way through customs, bitting my tongue to try and not scream out, "Bomb!"
I had a sick sense of humour. And it was only growing by the minute.
I watched as people walked by to catch their plane. Bored out of my brain as I waited for my line to move. They didn't look like the stereotypical Scotsman. I saw no red heads, with long beads, missing teeth and of course the kilt. I mean, Liv's boyfriend didn't look like that, but I at least wanted to see one stereotypical Scotsman.
In fact, Callum was gorgeous. Hotter than any guy that I've ever seen, danced with or slept with. If every guy in Scotland looked like him, I would never leave.
It took me half an hour to get through customs, find my bags before I found Liv and Callum in the sitting area of the airport.
I smiled when I saw her asleep on his shoulder as he gentle stroked her cheek. My heart ached, wishing that I could be touched like that. Just when I thought I would have to call out to them, Callum looked up and spotted me.
"Liv," he said tapping her thigh before pointing in my direction.
Her sleepy eyes brightened and for a second she didn't know what to do.
"Hey!" She yelled, jumping to attention.
"Hi," I groaned dropping my bag and wrapping her in my arms, "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too," she said tightening her grip, "how was your flight?"
"I'm scared of heights," I admitted still not letting go.
She giggled but didn't comment. I closed my eyes and took in her smell. She always smelled like strawberries. Knowing her, it was her shampoo. Liv would never waste money on perfume.
When we broke, I smiled and looked at Callum in his glory of hotness. Callum was damn. He had curly black hair that was to die for, not to mention the stubbles that grew along his strong cheeks bones, over his lips and chin. He had freaky pale blue eyes under his bushy black eyebrows. And if he was hot when he wasn't smiling, he was wow when he was.
"Girls," Callum started, bringing me back to the present, "Duncan's waitin'?"
I frowned, "whose Duncan?"
"Our driver," Liv told me.
It unsettle me how normal her voice sounded.
"Driver? Like a Driver?" I asked.
"Yep," Liv giggled knowing how strange this was, "Callum, can you take her bags."
He nodded, picking up my bags that sat beside me. I watched in awe as he straightened and started to make his way out of the airport.
"A driver and a whipped Scotsman, don't you have the life," I muttered to Liv making her chuckle.
"Come on."Everything was green. From the small trees in the paddocks to the bright green fields. We were defiantly not in New York anymore.
Mountains shaped the land like stone walls with only the road that led between the two to enter what it held on the inside. The road led up the mountain and twisted and turned before I felt us descend again. It was worse than the plane ride. Although the plane was less cramped. With a six foot something in back of a black Jeep, as well as Liv and I, it didn't leave much leg room.
"Will we be able to see Cole Phollie from up here?" I asked knowing that I had gotten the name wrong.
"Faol Coillie," Liv corrected.
"No, we won't be able to see it," Callum answered, making me want to moan at his deep Scottish accent, "the castle itself is very secluded, lots of trees around."
Liv giggled at his explanation before nudging him. My heart ached once again, reminding me of my recent betrayal. Deke would be with another bimbo by now.
Not wanting the memory of him to ruin my good mood, I shook it away.
"Wait, did you say castle?" I asked only just remembering that he had.
They both nodded, enjoying my amazement.
"So, how rich are you?" I asked.
"Amy!"
"What?" I shrugged as Callum chuckled, "he's not effected by the question."
Liv narrowed her eyes at me playing her parental roll perfectly.
"We do okay," Callum chuckled.
I raised my eyebrow, "that's code, isn't it? Your Richy Rich rich, right?"
He nodded making Liv groan. Perhaps I was being rude. But what I lacked in self-wariness, I made up in everything else.
After fifteen minutes, we soon came to the huge gates of Faol Coillie. The car stopped at the speaker where the driver rolled down his window and said something in a different language.
I frowned and turned to the happy couple.
"What did he say?" I asked.
Liv's eyes opened and looked up to Callum. There was something in her eyes. It wasn't fear but it wasn't far from it.
"Faol Lomhainnn chon," Callum sighed, "it means Wolf Pack."
My mouth opened to question him but I couldn't find a reason why. Why couldn't their password be Wolf Pack? It's weird, but it's Scotland.
"Amy," Liv started, getting my attention, "welcome to Faol Coillie."
I frowned and turned my head. My eyes widened when a three or more story castle took up the landscape. It was huge. The grey colour of the stone was one I had never seen before and I had never seen so many windows. A gravel driveway led right up to the front of the house, where two young girls waited. Oh my god, they had waiters.
The driver pulled up and the three of them got out of the car. For a second I couldn't move. Too paralysed by the great Faol Coillie.
"Amy!" Liv yelled making me jump, "Come on."
I groaned feeling tired from travel.
Inside was even grander. The two waitresses led the way through the corridor. Glass doors broke the corridor into sections till finally it opened to a huge void. My mouth dropped as my head tilted up and saw the galleries upon galleries.
"I thought we would show you the house tomorrow," Liv told me as I looked around in awe. Paintings of old people hung on the walls and doors led to more places of the house.
"Um, we?" I asked, finally coming to my senses.
She nodded, "Callum and I can show you. Or Graham and Allie."
I frowned, "Graham and Allie?"
"My younger siblings," Callum answered, "there your age and –."
"The most fun of the Pattersons!"
My head shot up at the sound of a guy's voice and spied two heads looking down from the highest gallery.
"Graham! Allie! Come down here!" Callum called.
"Race ya!" Graham yelled before they bolted down the stairs. I watched them as they ran down each level till they were running down to the void. Graham won.
You could tell that they were the babies of the family. Graham had a baby face and unlike his brother, he didn't have stubbles. He was working the Bieber hair flick that shaped his round face. He had freaky pale blue eyes and so did Allie.
She didn't have the trademark black but instead long blonde hair that reach below her chest. She had the same round face as Graham, with matching soft cheekbones and jawline.
"Haha, suck it, Sister. I'm the fastest," he crowed.
"Whatever Brother. You lack strength. Runnin' is only good if you plan to run away," she snapped.
I frowned at her choice of words but Liv and Callum didn't seem fazed by it.
"Wow, it took you two five seconds to start fightin'," Callum stated with a trying smile.
"To be far, that's progress," Liv stated making him chuckle.
"So," Graham started, getting my attention, "Your Amy. Just so you know, you're a lot prettier in person than on the phone."
My eyes widened by I couldn't help but smirk.
"Stop it, Graham," Liv snapped at him with a warning look, "No! That's bad!"
He scoffed, "You're talkin' to me like I'm a dog that's barkin' at the neighbour's bairns."
"If the shoe fits," Allie muttered.
Without being able to stop myself, I giggled.
"Ha, another woman to laugh at you. How does it feel Brother?" Allie asked winning a killer stare from her brother.
That's when I noticed it.
"Your twins, aren't you?" I asked.
They stopped their arguing and shrugged at me.
"Once they might have been," Callum started in that dreamy voice as he looked out onto a better time, "But then they were born and somethin' just went wrong."
Liv giggled, flopping her body back onto his. Oh my God, she had nested.
"Are they always like that?" I asked the Twins pointing at the happy couple.
"Well, sometimes they're worse," Graham said.
"How are we worse?" Liv asked, offended.
"Do you know how many times I found you gettin' it on in the library?" he yelled.
Allie groaned, "No, guys, that's a family room."
My eyes widened when I saw the giddy, blushing Liv as the only way to keep her standing was by Callum's body.
Watching them suddenly made me sleepy and my legs shake. I needed to lie down.
"Liv, where's my room?" I asked, trying not to sound rude.
Hearing my croaky tired voice, Liv stood on her own two feet.
"Upstairs, I'll show you."
I almost groaned when she said stairs. But the idea of sleep was too good to refuse.
