My Ride With Destiny

Chapter 2

I woke up in the morning by myself with a note taped to my forehead

I smiled and got up and got ready for Sunny's fair rest comeback day. I checked the weather which was chance of rain with partly cloudy skies and a mere 58 degrees. I dressed in my American Eagle skinny jeans my old 'Every cowgirl's got a ride.. go out and find one' skirt from TSC and an old Mossy oak sweatshirt, straitened my hair and went outside to saddle Sunny up. on the way out I grabbed my blaze orange gloves so I could be seen in the woods. I went out to the barn brushed him off and saddled him up and took him out to the arena to warm up. we walked 3 laps, trotted 3, loped 2, and extended the lope for 1 in each direction and I walked toward the barn. "hey dad?"

"What sugar plum?" my dad asked as he shut off the tractor

"I'm gonna take Sunny out on the big woods trail today is that ok?"

"Yah go ahead sweet pea! Have fun and be carefull" my dad warned and I joked

"Ya ok dad that'll be hard"

And without his response I gave Sunny the command to canter down the drive. Down the dirt road across the highway and threw the feild stopping only 2 times to wait for a car or wait for some deer to pass. I had barely even noticed the wind was picking up... we passed my neighbors house, the Vanslykes, who were outside showing off as usual, well only one of them does the other one keeps to himself and friends a lot. we stopped and started to walk up to the house to say hello. "hey Emily" Mr. Vanslyke said, his name was Ken and his wife's name Tanya. His two boys names were Kyle and Kolby. Kyle usually enjoyed showing off for the girls at school or for his current crushes.

"Hi Ken!" "Hi kyle...." I smiled. yep they weren't to bad of neighbors actually I didn't mind them.

"Hi Em!" Kyle Said in his peppy voice showing off his 'award winning smile' or as I think he thinks if it as. I nod my head in a 'sup' and he shrugs

"So you planning on taking Sunny up threw the woods today?" ken wondered

"Yeah. Gotta get back in shape you know.." I chuckled

"Hmm" he nodded and I rudely broke the silence

"Uhh hey do you mind if I get going I plan on it being a long trip if you don't mind?" I stuttered out with a red face

"Oh no no problem" ken said unwittingly while out of nowhere Tanya has a paper bag with her running widely holding it out in front of here.

"Wait wait!" she puffed out

"What's this?" I asked when she got to where we were

"A lunch, your dad said you forgot yours so I made you one!"

She said cheerfully and all I did was smile like an idiot and say

"Oh you didn't have to do that!"

"It wasnt any trouble at all now you go right along and start your ride!"

"Ok thanks again slykers!!"

"Bye have fun!" they all said in unison while I turned Sunny and walked off toward the woods.
