My Ride With Destiny

Chapter 16

I woke up to the birds chirping and Sunny breathing his hot air down my neck. It was getting colder. Much colder. I got up and went outside the little hut. it was frost all over. Oh shit!! snow! I totally forgot about the upcoming weather, now what! I'm stranded, stuck, lost, scared, alone, afraid, and now I'm gonna freeze to death. I went back inside and grabbed the pan. I went to search for food. I found some nice grass for sunny and a bucket half broken I could lay sideways and put water in for him. I found a dead rabbit half gone but I took it anyway. Food is food. I walked back to camp and heard 'wasting all these tears on you' by Cassadee Pope.

'Strange' I thought to myself. Then it hit me- that's my ringtone!! I dropped everything and ran toward the sound. It was a miracle! I looked at the screen- Brandon. My sweet baby brother Brandon. or so I called him. I slid it open- it read:

'Hey sis. I was just wondering where u r. mom and dad are worried. So am I. James called. I told him 2 go away the asswhole wanted a go at ya. But I save u sis. I LUV u. Please tell me where u r.

Aww!! my bro saved me from the grip of James the jackass again! I loved him so much I mean what other sibling would do this for me? I studied the sky. All trees probably no reception. Ill try anyway. I typed faster than I ever have before and ended up with:

' hey bray!! thx so much brotha I LUV u srsly so much!! I took sunny out into the woods. we went I've the bridge came 2 the fork an took a left cuz we had time.. we stopped at the brook and found a snake and sunny took off and he fell down a cliff and I made a hut underneath the hangover in the valley. We r near a pond and its getting colder very fast I have no jacket, nothing. Come find me. Tell mom and dad. I'm scared. Please. It's frost down here and I'm afraid that it's gonna snow and my food will be gone. Ill freeze. Hurry. Hurry!!!

I pressed 'send' and looked away hoping it would send and I would be saved. I looked down to the worst thing ever- no signal warning from the screen. I threw the god damn thing down and screamed. I picked it up and marched down to camp. I put water in the bucket for Sunny and layed the grass down close enough so he could sleep out of his food but still eat it with his broken leg. I cooked the rabbit and ate what was left. I tried sending the text again and again it didn't go threw so I put it in my pocket and snuggled into Sunny even though it was only 4 in the afternoon. I looked around the cliff and found a notch in the wall. I stuck my fist in there and looked around the hut for fire making material. I found some grass and wood and made a small fire inside the hut for warmth. I snuggled back into sunny and fell asleep again dreaming about him.
