William's POV

William caught up with Alice just as she was leaving the check out desk. He grabbed her hand and laced his fingers through it. Alice looked over at him and smiled,"Your hand's warm. How do you do that? I only ask 'cause in books vampires are ice cold."

William laughed,"Don't believe everything you read. The blood I drink is usually warm and I walk around enough to circulate it."

Alice frowned, deep in thought,"Right...but none of your organs still function so how does that work?"

William smiled wickedly,"I think you'll find that at least one of my body parts still function."

Alice blushed and smacked his arm,"Down boy. I'm serious! How does that work?"

William laughed,"I drink the blood and then I work out. The exercise moves the blood through my  veins, warming my hands. My blood rushes to my hands because I yearn to touch you." William cupped her face, both to prove his point and because he needed to.  Alice looked at him with a tenderness he hadn't yet seen. There was something akin to it before she kissed him a few hours before but it was a mixture of questioning and loving. This...this was love. He leaned down and whispered,"I know you love me. I can see it in your eyes. Just say it so I can say it back. Please."

Alice's POV

Williams' hand was cupping her cheek, warm and soft. His eyes searched her face and then lit up like the sky when the sun has fully risen in the sky. William leaned down and whispered,"I know you love me. I can see it  in your eyes. Just say it so I can say it back. Please."  Did he just say please? Alice almost melted into his arms and whispered the words he wanted to hear....but it was too soon. She wanted to be wooed; with dinner, and maybe some more of this delectable flirting. She smiled and motioned for him to come closer. He bent down and whispered,"I am a prize to be won." She moved back and covered her mouth to mask her laughter at the utterly bewildered look on his face.  He blinked a couple of times then said,"I know you are. I'm slightly confused, love." Alice couldn't hold it in anymore, laughter burst forth like a spit take and she doubled over. William waited patiently, a frown of worry barely visible through the tears in her eyes. The  laughter continued for a minute before she wiped her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, your face was priceless! Oh, that was so good! I was paraphrasing from a movie."

William still looked confused so Alice said,"Don't worry about it Will. It's just a dumb movie." If she was being honest with herself, she loved Aladdin and thought it was awesome but there was no reason to make Will feel bad about it."

Will shrugged,"I'm getting you out of here before they put you in the psychiatric ward. Let's go." William offered her the crook of his arm and she looped her arm through his, fighting the urge to skip. She looked up at him,"Can I skip?" William smiled,"You're cute. I guess you can, you've never struck me as a person who skips, though. Feel free." Alice batted her eyelashes at him,"Will you skip with me?"

Will frowned,"Men did not skip when I was young, love. It was for girls." Alice scowled at him,"That's so sexist Will. Men can skip. They might get some funny looks but they can." Will thought about it, then grinned mischievously," Speaking of weird looks..."

William picked up Alice and slung her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes." Alice squealed,"Put me down Will! When we get home, you are so dead! I'm going to kick your ass so bad!"

Alice felt the vibration of Will's laughter but strangely, he didn't jostle her as he walked. "We both know you don't really wanna kick my ass. Although if you wanna wrestle..."

Alice laughed,"Is your mind always in the gutter?"

Will's answer was matter-of-fact,"Yes, it is.  I'm a man who has been alone far too long."

Alice's heart broke for Will,"I need to see your face, babe. Please put me down. Please?"

Will reached up and gently gathered her in her arms,"What is it love?"

Alice touched his face. "You will never be alone again. I promise. You're mine.  My four hundred and eight year old pervert."

William kissed Alice, long and deep. She thought her heart would leave her body,  to burrow into his . She almost said the words. Almost.

Alice could feel the love pouring between them,  like pouring cake mix into the baking pan. The loved filled every inch of them. She moaned. Will pulled back, blue eyes stormy with the emotion that went through them both. He cleared, his throat,"I should get you home."

Alice shook her head,"No. I'll miss you." William smiled and gently nibbled her earlobe. "I'll miss you too. I just have to get something to drink, it's been a long two days being thirsty." Alice wanted to tell him to bite her, to drink her but that was ridiculous. He wouldn't drink her blood, he'd be offended if she asked. "Can I at least sleep in your arms on the way home?"

"Always. My arms were made for you."

Alice's last thought before she fell asleep was:I love you William. I just cant say it yet.

William's POV

Alice was asleep as soon as Will told her she could sleep in his arms. He walked quickly, hoping the loudness of traffic wouldn't wake the gently sleeping Alice. As he got to her house he slowed. Getting the door open proved to be a challenge. He could've used a burst of vampire speed but then he'd risk getting too hungry to resist drinking her blood. After a moments of hesitation William put Alice down on a dry patch of grass and went to get the house key. William opened the door and went and grabbed Alice. He was almost to the stairs when he heard Alice's mom on the phone,"I just wish she'd come home, that's all. Or call." William made a beeline for the couch and set Alice down, whispering,"I'll be back tonight, love."

William listened to hear which way Alice's mom was coming in from. The kitchen ! Damn! William ran over to the window,,opened it, and jumped out. William landed on his feet and then used his vampire speed up get himself to a bar. He needed a stiff drink, both alcoholic and human in nature.
