WILLS' POV

Will didn't struggle as Alice took his arm and steered him away from Brad. The Alpha hadn't moved since Will threw him into the wall. He was breathing, Will could see his chest moving with each breath. The Alpha was gracefully admitting defeat...at least for now. As well he should. A good leader knows when he's been bested. Will looked away from Brad and into Alice's eyes.   She saved him. He could play the part of the victor in front of Brad but in his heart he knew that Alice had saved his life. Time seemed to slow as she stepped up to Brad and snarled. Will didn't know what was said between them in that moment but whatever it was made Brad switch forms.

Will pulled himself out of his thoughts as he stumbled.  Alice tightened her grip on his arm and looked at him with concern,"Vampires don't do that. You're like poetry in motion. Are you okay?"

Will felt hungry werewolf eyes burning into him and knew that if he showed how hurt he was, they'd tear him apart.  He smiled and lifted Alice onto his shoulders.  A feeling of unease spread through the pack, it was so thick you could choke on it. Alice raised her voice to speak to the wolves assembled,"I present to you my mate William the Wolf Tamer!  He has made the Alpha submit and proved his worth!"

At her words the pack bristled and advanced on him.  He tensed and moved slowly backward. He didn't want to fight in his weakened state. He needed blood. A lot of blood.  A howl tore through the air. The wolves stopped and sat on their haunches.  Will followed their gazes to the Alphas doorway.  Even wounded Brad radiated power. The russet wolf shook himself and strutted forward, the proud Alpha.  He stopped in front of Will . Will didn't dare move. The seconds ticked by until finally...Brad bowed his head in submission. He then turned and barked. The pack slowly backed away, clearing a path. Will-with Alice on his shoulders- followed Brad down the corridor. The floor under his feet was made of obsidian rock, cool and smooth. Torches lined the walls, illuminating the russet of Brad's fur.

Brad stopped at a door and shared a meaningful look with Alice. If only he knew that look said.

Alice's POV

Brad stopped at a door and looked at Alice.

If you get tired of tame and want some wild, you know where to find me.

Alice kept her expression blank as she stared back.

My Mate makes you look like a puppy tripping over paws that are too big for him.

Alice hid a triumphant smile as Brad turned and went back the way he came.

If they were keeping score it'd look like this
