CHAPTER SIX

Jake's POV

 I still can't believe that someone like Arnold Saavedra will go to the trouble of saving me, I mean who am I compare to him.

My gaze stayed glued to his figure until I can no longer see him, I stayed outside for few more minutes before going inside the room that I'm renting.

I got inside my room and saw Jonas which is actually my roommate, Jonas is a customer service representative in one of a BPO in Quezon City, the guy is actually from Pampanga but since it's much convenient to rent a room near his office we decided to share this room.

Like all the others, I can feel that Jonas didn't like me at all, but unlike the others, he's not treating me badly or anything like that which I really appreciate since I'm getting enough of that at school already.

After a quick shower I lied in my bed eyes wide open, thinking on how can I show my appreciation to Arnold and at the same time bothered with what Professor Castro might

"Erase that thought Jake, what matter most is how you can repay Arnold from his kindness tomorrow." I said in my mind.

I fall asleep with that thought still in my mind, thinking Arnold before I succumb to sleep.

I dream't about Professor Castro and I can feel the fear crawling over me but just like a hero Arnold came to my rescue and saved me from the menace that is Mr. Castro.

I Woke up the next morning, feeling refresh and mind at ease, thinking that nothing can ruin my day.

I saw Jonas already dressed for work, and for the first time that we've been roommate I actually greeted the guy.

"Good morning." I greeted him, smiling while stretching my arms.

I saw that I surprised him but he didn't answer back just nodded and left in the room without another word.

I ignore his reaction since I already promised myself that I will not be bother by anything negative today onwards.

I went straight to the kitchen of the apartment that I am renting and saw our landlady already preparing our breakfast.

"Good morning." I greeted Ms. Helen our landlady.

"Good morning to you too Jake, seat down and take your breakfast." she said.

After smelling the fried rice that she prepared I can feel my stomach rumbling, so after saying my thanks I started to eat my breakfast.

"By the way, I received a text message from the company that you applied in." she said and then handed me her cellphone.

I don't have cellphone so, I asked Ms. Helen if I can use her number as a contact number in case the company that I'm applying tried to contact me.

The text message:

Hi Mr. Angelo this is Grace from Mcdonald's SM North Edsa, please take note of your schedule for your final interview on July 17, 12 am sharp, please don't forget to bring a pen and one valid ID.

And then it hit me. It's already July 17, I checked the clock and that it's already 11:00 am, I only have an hour for me to get ready and to travel to Sm

I hurriedly finish my food, took a quick shower and after ten more minutes I'm already on my way to SM North.

"Last question, what do you think the characteristic that you have that can contribute to the company?" that's the last question of the interviewer.

"I think being a hard worker and being honest to a lot of things." I answered and saw her smile hearing my answer which is quite promising.

I waited for another thirty minutes which is longer than the time of the interview but I'm willing to wait since I badly needed a job.

And just like the saying, good things will come to those who waits, I got the job! my start date is after one week since I needed to finish my medical as well as I need to get the requirements that they required before I starts.

I was about to go leave the Mall when I passed Blue Magic and saw a really cute dog stuff toy, and Arnold suddenly passed my mind and I decided to buy it.

On the way to school I can't help smiling while looking at the gift that I bought for Arnold. I missed few of my classes that day, but I don't think it will be a big deal since it's my first time to missed class.

After probably thirty minutes I arrived at school and noticed that all of the students are making fuss about something.

"What's going on?"" I asked myself seeing them relentless about something but decided to ignore it since my mind is focused in one thing, to look for Arnold and give him my gift.

I started my search in the gymnasium since I've heard that he is a basketball player and that is where he usually spend his time but didn't find him there.

"Where could he be?" I said, wondering where on earth could he be after I checked the school parking lot.

I decided to check in the gymnasium again when I heard something that caught my attention from the students.

"I heard that Arnold Saavedra beaten Professor Castro yesterday and right now they are in the chancellor's office having an admin hearing." I heard from one of the student.

"But why would Arnold do that, I mean there must be a really good explanation about it." the other girl said.

"Maybe, I don't know but he doesn't want to say anything to protect himself." the guy said.

I didn't finish listening to their conversation and I suddenly sprung to action.

"He needs me right now." I said to myself determined on what to do, I didn't notice that I dropped my gift for Arnold.
