CHAPTER TEN

Arnold's POV

"What a great morning!" I said to myself when I woke up the following day, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, everything seems to be perfect.

I remember  a commercial of Nescafe when girl is singing as if everything is perfect after drinking a cup of coffee and that is exactly what I am feeling now.

I texted all my friends, including my mom.

"Hi Good morning guys, have a great day ahead." I texted.

I just waited for few minutes and received fifteen messages from them, and for a weird reason they think I'm quite odd today when in fact I'm just so happy.

Normally during Saturday since there's no class I usually slept late but because this is a special day, I decided to wake up early for my "Operation Friendship"

See I'm becoming weird making such codename for getting Jake to be my friend, to be honest few months ago I will not believe that I am going to go to this kind of trouble just to befriend someone.

"I just feel sorry for him" I said to myself wondering why I would go to such extent just to make friend, which I just shrugged off.

I'm panning on visiting his apartment today, maybe to invite him to go out or something since I learned that he is just new in Manila.

I decided to wear a white t-shit which fit perfectly in my toned body, a blue denim skinny jeans and my blue converse shoes, and of course my getup will not be completed without my aviator shades.

Before I leave I checked my reflection in the mirror and after being satisfied with what I am seeing, I decided to ride my white Honda Civic 2009 which is parked in the parking lot of the building.

I'm keep on repeating the line that I'm going to use once I saw him and if he asked me what do I need.

Scenarios in my mind:

Scenario #1: "Hi Jake it's actually my birthday, do you want to go out and celebrate my birthday with me?"

Scenario #2: "Jake I'm so down right now, I think I'm going to fail Calculus"

Scenario #3: "Jake if you don't want me to create a ruckus here you will join me in going to the mall!"

I can't stopped myself from laughing thinking about the alibis that running through my mind especially the last scenario that I have.

If my friends know what's running through my mind right now they will think I'm already losing it.

I drove for almost thirty minutes and finally I arrived to Jake's place, the place is so alive with people doing various chores and activities.

From children playing hide and see, bum people that's already drinking liquor in this early hour, mother's who can't help but to gossip about a lot of things while they have their child on the laps.

I can't help but smile seeing this kind of place since this is new to me considering that I am living in subdivision prior to living in a condo unit.
