2. The teachers' lounge

Lauren was still shaking when Tom took her to the teachers' lounge.

"Just sit down and wait here. I'll be right back with some water." Tom said.

Lauren just nodded.

"Wow, what happened to you?" One teacher said.

"Nothing." Lauren said in a soft voice.

"Here, drink this." Tom said.

"Thank you."

"You're still drunk aren't you? Tom said.

"A bit." Lauren said as she rummaged through her bag.

"What time did you get in this morning?"

"Around five A.M." Lauren said as she put on her sunglasses.

"So, just get some rest. We still have an hour before the assembly start."

Tom stayed with Lauren as she tried to get some rest and not feel sick. Tom stroke her hand while he looked at her.

"What the hell happened to her?" it was Mick, one of Tom's best friends at the school.

"Rough night." Tom said.

"She'll be okay, won't she?"

"Yeah, she's just tired and not feeling well. I'm going to get her out of here as soon as I can." Tom said.

"Sure, I'll help if you want." Mick offered. "You want some coffee?"

"Love some. Can you get a cappuccino for her? I'll wake her up. We have to get ready for the assembly anyway."

Mick returned with the coffee as Tom woke up Lauren.

"Lauren, sweetheart? Time to wake up."

Lauren opened her eyes. "uhm. I don't feel so good."

"You'll be fine, here's some coffee." Mick said.

"Thanks, but..." Lauren dove in to a bucket next to the couch.

"It's okay." Tom said as he stroke her back, giving her neck a massage.

"What the hell." Mick said as she got the hair out of her face. "Are you okay? I mean. This is not normal, darling."

"What do you think?" Tom asked.

"I think someone drugged her drink last night."

"Lauren, what do you remember from last night?"

"Not so much." Lauren said just before she passed out.

After what seemed like hours, Lauren woke up.

"Lauren? Lauren! You okay?"

"What happened?" Lauren said with a soft voice.

"You fainted."

"How long was I out for?"

"Only half an hour."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Mick said. "you have caused the assembly to be delayed. Everybody's happy about that."

"Great." Lauren said as she tried to get up.

"Wow, easy." Mick said as he took her arms. "just sit for a bit."

"No. I want to get up. I've been taking up your time long enough." Lauren protested.
