Back at the party Mick, Tom and Lauren were dancing. Just as there was a switch between songs, Mick left to get everybody some drinks. Lauren and Tom started dancing a bit closer and a bit more dirty. Touching each other's hands and back, their faces close to each other, their legs entwined. Even though more people were dancing, Lauren and Tom stood out. They were the only ones that didn't notice that everybody stopped dancing and stared at them. The music was turned up and Lauren turned away from Tom a bit. He grabbed her arm and pulled her in. Dancing against her, their bodies were moving to the beat in sync.

After the fast song, the music turned slow and Tom put his hands on Lauren's hips. She put her hands around his neck. Tom rested his head against Lauren's forehead. They started the slow dance. Some of the other people joined them on the dance floor, barely able to keep their eyes off of them. About a minute into the song, Lauren rested her head on Tom's shoulder. He moved his hands to her back and let his fingertips rest on her backside. Lauren held on more tight to Tom who kissed her neck.

"You look great, Girl."

"That's a great lie."

"No, it's the truth. How are you feeling? A bit more calm?"

"Calm, High, but not hung over." She said.

"You know everybody is staring right?"

"I noticed. Maybe we shouldn't have taken the second batch of pills."

"I'm feeling okay. I mean, I don't think they know."

"Well, I took more than the second batch. I mean, before you came I sniffed coke and shot heroin."

"Lauren, really?" Tom said as stopped kissing her and looked her in the eyes.

"Really. Just to calm my nerves and don't feel the hangover."

"You okay?"

"Let's just dance okay?" Lauren said as she kissed Tom. Tom answered her kiss with a kiss on her neck. He put his hands back on her backside. She pulled Tom closer.

"I'm so freaking into you right now.'"

"Well, I dig you too right now, but I think that's the drugs."

The song turned to a more upbeat one and the dance floor filled up as Lauren and Tom left to get a seat. They joined Mick, who had gotten drinks for them both. Lauren sat down on Mick's lap, put an arm around his neck and kissed him on the cheek. "You are a great friend." She said. "I'll drink to that" Mick said as they all took a sip of their drinks. Strong drinks for Tom and Lauren and just cola for Mick.

"So, Lauren, you want to dance?" Mick asked after ten minutes.

"I'll take a bathroom break." Tom said.

"I'm dancing with Mick." Lauren said a little to enthusiastic.

Mick and Lauren went to dance. Lauren liked to dance close and raunchy, Mick was more of a gentleman. He grabbed her arm and let her do her thing. Lauren went completely out of her mind. She was dancing and swinging. "Honey, take it easy."

"Why? We don't dance every day."

"Why so wild."

"Because."

"Because you took something didn't you?"

"I took a lot." Lauren said, not being embarrassed. "And I'm going to Tom and take some more."

"I think you've had enough, baby."

"I decide for myself."

"I know you decide for yourself, but I want to save you the embarrassment."

"Of what?"

"Falling on your face as the truth comes out."

"About what?"

"About the drugs." Mick said just before the music died down.

The DJ announced that this was going to be the last song. It was about 9 pm. The party lasted longer than It was supposed to, but nobody had left. He started a very familiar song and everybody took to the floor. Nobody stood on the side.

"How's it going?" Tom said as he joined Mick and Lauren

"I think you've had enough too." Mick said to Tom.

"What?"

"Drugs." He said

"Sure. Let's dance Lauren." Tom said as he shut down Mick.

"Let's." Lauren said. She looked to Mick. "I'm sorry. I just can't."

Mick nodded and took off. He sat down near the exit. He was wondering what to do next. He should take them home, but not their own. Tom was too high, because he shot up just seconds ago. Lauren, he didn't know. She was completely out of it. She was doing more than Tom. He looked at the dance floor. Lauren and Tom were dancing very raunchy. They didn't notice that it was inappropriate.

The song ended. Tom and Lauren stopped dancing and walked up to Mick. Lauren sat down on Mick's lap again. Legs on either side of him, facing him. "You okay?" She asked.

"I'm good."

"Good." And she gave him a kiss on the lips. "Now, if you boys will excuse me, I have to go to the toilet."

Lauren left and Mick turned to Tom.

"What did you give her?"

"Nothing""

"Come on"

"Okay. Relax, I didn't give her anything. She took it."

"What did she take. Come on Tom, stay focused."

" Xanax and ritalin"

"And?!"

"Well, she's on coke and heroin."

"Shit." Mick said a little bit too loud so that some people nearby turned their heads. "For how long?" he said in a softer voice.

"I don't know. I swear." Tom said.

"You're tired aren't you?" Mick said.

"Yeah."

"It's time to come down, my friend."

"I can't go home like this." Tom said. He was ashamed.

"I know, you can crash with me."

"Thanks." Tom said and he put his head against the wall. "Mick?"

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Can I leave you here for a while? I want to check up on Lauren and take her with us."

Tom nodded and closed his eyes. This drug thing was wearing him out.
