I woke up, a wedge of sunlight from the window pierced my eyes sharply and I ducked my head behind the white comforter.

After a while of blinking and a lot of persuading from my conscience, I finally sit up. Yawning, I looked at the red analogue clock standing on the bedside. It read, "8:03"

"Morning" A voice greeted and I looked up to see a half-naked Arthur leaning on the doorway with his slender arms crossed over his bare chest. His hair was wet, water dripped from the golden tips. A blue, scarlet and white towel hung on his shoulder. His dark-washed jeans was buckled with a black faux-leather belt.

"Morning... poppet" I replied, mocking his accent making him chuckle lightly in the process, "You're up early"

"Yes well I was busy all week planning our fourth anniversary date and I didn't want to start on the wrong foot"

Smirking, I gave him a seductive gaze, "Really now? Does it involve me leaning over the kitchen island in nothing but whipped cream?"

"No..." He walked over our bed and placed his hands near my sides, "But if that's what you want" He put a knee on the mattress and leaned closer until our noses touched, "We can do it right now"
He pressed his lips on me and I got a taste of his favorite Earl Grey Tea.

"No fair. You already showered and I haven't even had breakfast yet" I pouted when he pulled back.

"We can always shower together after we do it. But you might wanna brush your teeth first love. Morning breath isn't really romantic, no offense"

Had he said that when we just started dating I would've blushed but after years together you'd be quite comfortable with each other. Besides he already saw me while I was peeing. It was awkward but you get used to it.

"You're a jerk" I threw a pillow at him as he got on his feet. He caught the pillow and placed it on the bed. Chuckling, he grasped my wrists and playfully pulled me up as I pretended to go limp, "Nooo! I don't want to get out of bed! It's cold out there"

"You sound like Alfred, poppet"

"But it's true"

"You leave me no choice then" I pondered over what he just said but before I could ask what he meant a pair of arms found their way behind my knees and my back and next thing I knew I was lifted effortlessly into the air, "What the Hell--!?"

"Sorry, love but you need to get up. Our date starts right now" He carried me out the door.

"At least let me brush my teeth first"

"All right"

Arthur put me down when we got to the bathroom. However, the moment my bare feet touched the marble tiles, I jumped back with a curse, "Crap!"

"What is it?" He put a hand on my shoulder.

"Cold tiles"

He looked confused for a moment but then took off his mint-green slippers, "Here take mine"

"Thanks, sweetie" I slipped my feet inside the warm fuzzy slippers. But I looked up at him with furrowed brows "But aren't you cold?"

He shrugged, "A little bit but you would've pouted if I didn't offer them"

I shook my head and grinned, "That's so sweet, you jerk"

"I love you too"

He reached for his green toothbrush and handed me my blue one which I snatched quickly before he could play catch-or-miss with it.

"Mint, madam?" He held a half-empty, crumpled tube of toothpaste.

"Thank you, good sir" I offered my toothbrush.

We faced the foggy mirror and started brushing. We spat the paste at the same time into the sink. I took the water-filled glass sitting on its holder and sipped some water to gurgle before handing it to Arthur who did the same. Bending down we spat the water into the sink.

"Didn't you say you had work today?"

I asked him, handing him the towel I wiped my mouth with.

"I took a day off. I knew you would've appreciated it"

"Aaw, sweetie you didn't have to do that"

"I know but just because we've been together this long doesn't mean I should stop doing little things that you love so much"

"Hm... Someone knows how to set the mood" I stood on my toes and kissed his chin.

"I have all day planned out so I hope you already cleared your schedule" He says.

"Well... There was an outbreak of the flu at work so we won't be able to get any job done for a couple of days"

Arthur laughed, "I don't know whether to be happy or scared or disturbed, love. But if it means I'll have you all to myself for a whole day then I'll take it"

"Oh? Better make every second count"

"I will" He led me to the kitchen.

"You didn't cook, did you?" I asked, eyebrow twitching just slightly. Arthur laughed and opened the door "Do you really think I'd do that on our special day?"

"This is..." I gasped, looking at our rustic kitchen which had been transformed into a rose-clad paradise.

"This'll be a difficult thing to clean but you'll help, right love?"

I didn't answer, too engross with the sight. Arthur laughed again and led me to the table "Since it's a special day I threatened Francis to bake and cook for us"

"Threatened? What did you do?"

"Hm? Goodness, did I say 'threatened'? My mistake. I meant requested. But enough of that. Let's start the day fresh"

"Of course. Lead the way"

After a delicious breakfast of banana and blueberry crepes, Arthur and I strolled around London before ending the date with a ride in the London Eye.

"Did you have fun, poppet?" Arthur asked as we sat across each other.

"Sure did" I let my eyes wander to the window "I can't remember the last time I rode a Ferris wheel"

The sun had begun to sink down the horizon like a ball in water with orange watercolor. The sky was a splash of pink, so soft and so warm. Nothing could be more perfect. Or so I've told myself.

"It's lovely, isn't it?" Arthur asked.

"Yeah. If only the world was frozen in twilight"

"Come on now, you don't seriously think that, right?" We faced each other "Things are precious because they lack permanency"

I stared at him for a short while before nodding with glee. This was probably what I like most about Arthur; I get to talk deep with him with things that normally bore others.

"You're right" By the time I've returned to the window, the sun had disappeared and the sky was a clear light blue "Fireworks wouldn't look spectacular against orange and pink. And the stars won't be seen either" I think we've talked like this back when we first met.

I could feel Arthur's smile at me. I giggled and turned "What is it? Dazzled by my beauty?"

He chuckled "I guess you can say that" He got up and sat next to me.

"Dazzled is it?" He leaned down and kissed my forehead before looking down at me with a gentle smile, "You can say that"
