Long chapter, I know. I couldn't find a way to make this chapter any shorter. But the next ones will be relatively short-ish.

Song of the chapter: 'Born to Die' by Lana Del Ray.

Dedicated to TigerLily_132 for her amazing and inspiring comments. I freaking love her guys! She's such a cutie.

Droplets of inky black blood trailed over her fingers and fell to the floor, making a puddle that merged with the rain water. The blood was oozing out of a deep gnash on her arm, just below her wrists.

The rain kept blurring Hera's vision. Streams of water fell on her lashes and prevented her from seeing clearly in the dark. She squinted her eyes and focused her vision on the wound.

Her eyes widened at the sight.

Bones peeking out from beneath the layers of skin and flesh. Not white like it's supposed to be, but a dull jade black. The flesh around the bones were a sickly grey. Chunks of it fell to the ground as if it was decaying.

Lola took a step forward. Hera grabbed the her shoulder. "Don't," she said not taking her eyes off of the girl in front of her.

She looked at the person to whom the arm belonged to. Her once blue irises were now a dense black. The color of her eyeballs dissipated into the whites of her hollow, putrefied eyes.

Cheekbones peeking out.

Teeth deteriorated.

There was no sign of pain, spite or even malice on her face. There was only hunger. A blind, raw animalistic hunger that sent chills down Hera's spine.

What have I done?

Five hours ago...

Meow.

Where is that sound coming from?

Meow.

Her head whipped so fast the muscles at the back of her neck pulled. A furry little cat was was purring at her from the sidewalk, licking it's hand with it's tongue.

She started making faces at it.

She creased her forehead to the point her temples hurt.

Stuck out her tongue.

Showed off her teeth.

Roared. Although she sounded more like dying walrus than a tiger.

And then watched all her efforts go down the drain as the cat stayed rooted right where it was. It stared at her with a look that said 'what a dumbass'. She wanted to punch that thing so bad. She couldn't believe that there was a time when she actually used to think cats are adorable.

"Stupid cat," she mumbled when she was done making herself look like an idiot and turned on her heels to get as far away from that thing as possible. Great, thanks to that siren now she was going to have to act like a mental patient every time she sees a cat for the rest of her life. Her paranoia kicked into overdrive over the fact that she was walking right past a graveyard. Boy, did she regret taking the shortcut from school.

The next morning after that freak show of a night Hera woke up to find herself sleeping safely on her bed, in her pajamas with no clue as to how she got there. She had found a small piece of paper on the side table. The words 'make sure you wear clean underwear. - Bellatrix' written on it. It looked like it was written by a three year old. Blondie's handwriting was worse than Alice's, and that's saying a lot. Reading it she had a pretty good idea who put her there. But how they managed to bring her into her room without granny noticing was a mystery.
