"Sir, Mr. Chang in on line 3"
That is the 6th call I received today.
"Thanks Jane" I sighed.
I don't have any f$cking clue what the h3ll is happening. And why now? When I'm busy looking for Lara.
"Yes, Mr. Chang. How may I help you?"
"What is this all about Mr. Monterverde?"
"I assure you all the rumors are not true. Somebody is just trying to sabotage me." I assured him. Just like what I've been doing the whole f$cking day!
"Well, whoever that is he or she is doing a good job! Fix this! Or else, I'll pull out all my investments!" he yelled
I wanted to wring his neck right for raising his voice at me but I know doing that will just male it worse.
"I understand. But I assure you I'll find out who's behind this nonsense. Then he'll get it..bad"
"I'll take your word for it."
I hanged up
It's been a very exhausting day. And to make matters worse, Lara is still missing.
It has been a very tough week.
Lara's disappearance has been ruining me each and every day. I've hired the best private investigators and still no sign of her. My gut feeling tells me that that dufus friend of hers has something to do with this. And someone else.
I went to Aimee's house the day she disappeared and was hoping she was there. All I got was a whole lot of yelling and a big punch on the face. F*ck that friend of hers! Psh!
I know she is just worried about Lara and I am too.
Ring ring ring...
"Yes?"
"A Mr. Gallagher is on line 2. Would you like me to transfer the call Sir?" my secretary asked
Mr. Gallagher? I don't know anyone by that name.
"Tell him I'm busy" I've got so many things to worry about than wasting my time talking to whoever that is.
"Yes Sir"
I'm still trying to figure out who is trying to sabotage my business.
4 days ago, a rumor has started that I'm loosing investments from different parts of the world which meant I'm going bankrupt for no reason. The news was so believable that all my investors started calling me and making sure their money was safe. It even made headlines here and in Europe. I've been holding conferences to make them aware that the rumor is not true. That my company and I are still intact and secure.
I don't know anyone who would go against me.
Especially in business. They know that I am a ruthless man when it comes to my company.
Ring ring ring...
"What is it now?!"
"S-sir"
"What?! I'm very busy Jane!"
"S-sorry Sir. Mr. Cory is here to see you."
Finally
"Let him in"
"Yes Sir"
Not a minute passed and I heard someone knocking
"Come in"
"Mr. Monteverde. Sir"
He is one of the private investigators that I hired to look for Lara.
"So do you have what I need Mr. Leviste. Naiinip na ako."
I sat back on my swivel chair and looked at him.
"Yes Sir. I have some information that you can use" then he gave me a brown envelope.
I was about to scan on the documents when my phone suddenly rang.
"Jane! I said I'm very busy."
"S-sorry Sir. But a certain Mr. Gallagher is insisting to speak with you."
Sino ba tong sira ulong tawag ng tawag sakin?
"Tell him to f*ck off!" As I was about to hang up my phone I heared Jane spoke.
"S-sir. He said it's about Ms. Lara"
Lara? Why would he know about my Lara.
"Fine.Connect his call"
"Mr. Monteverde."
"Who are you and how did you know Lara?"
There was a minute of silence. Before he spoke again.
"I am here to propose a deal with you Mr. Monteverde"
Napakunot ang noo ko. Who the hell is this guy?
"I hate repeating myself Mr. Gallagher is it? But let me say it again. Who are you and what do you know about Lara?"
Hindi ko alam pero this guy makes my blood boil. I have this feeling that he is up to no good.
"The proposal that I'm about to make is about Lara. Aren't you even interested at all? Besides you have no other choice anyway but to listen since you don't know where she is right now am I right?"
This man is really pissing me off.
I took a deep breath trying to calm myself.
"Fine. What the f*ck is that proposal all about?"
I hear him chuckle a bit before he spoke
"Break up with Lara."
"What the f*ck did you say??!!!"
Napatayo ako at napasigaw.
I couldn't help it. I yelled on top of my voice.
"You heard me. Break up with Lara and I'll tell you where she is"
