Chapter Fifteen : Run

Bella's POV

We had just finished a delicious dinner at the local pizza restaurant when Caleb decided to take us  to get ice cream.

"Something sweet for my two favorite girls in the world" He said, while smiling happily.

I grinned and hid my face behind my hair so he couldn't see my blush. It's been two whole years with him, but I still blush at the smallest things he says.

We were walking down the street block together to only ice cream shop in town, Ice Ice Baby. I couldn't help but to shake my head in amazement, at the owners who dared to name their shop that. It was just ridiculous.

Sophia was walking in front of me, while Caleb was on my side closet to the street. I couldn't help but to smile, happy at how light hearted everything felt at the time. The air was just filled with happiness and peace. I was really enjoying myself.

"Uh...Hey Bella" Caleb said

"Yes?" I asked.

"So, you know how Sophia has that sleepover Friday.." he stated, sounding a little nervous.

Was he worried about her sleeping over? I understood his reasons about being protective over Sophia, but surely he wasn't worried that she would be hurt at a sleepover.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm sure Sophia will be fine at the sleepover. You've made her memorized both our cell and work numbers, taught her how to give out her information and call the police and also taught her to "Stop, Drop and Roll' in case of a fire. if she's not prepared for a sleepover, at least she'll be prepared for an emergency" I joked at the end.

He blushed a little before scowling at me. "Hey, sleepovers could be dangerous okay. What if she gets into a pillow fight and one of the girls, hits her too hard and she gets a concussion?"

"Oh yeah, because  you hear of seven -year olds giving each other concussion during pillow fights all the time" I said sarcastically. I laughed a little.

"Calm down, Caleb. I'm sure she'll be fine and if it  makes you feel any better, I'll keep a shield around her at all times. It wont be able to stop people from touching her but it'll let us know what she's doing" I said, hoping to make him feel better.

"Thanks Bella" Caleb said as he gave me his signature smile.

"Anytime" I blushed and looked away, while he laughed at me.

"Anyways, what are you going to do on Friday since Sophia's got a sleepover" Caleb asked.

"At first, I was scheduled to work but due to some pipe leakage, the store is going to be closed for the next couple of days. So I'm completely free. What about you?"

"Oh, yeah. Well, I was scheduled to work too but I decided to, you know take a day off for some me time and all, "He started to ramble

I listened quietly, while watching Sophia as she skipped ahead, making sure she didn't get too close to the street.

"So since, you're free on Friday and I'm free on Friday...do you... like....uh...want to go out?" He asked after he finally finished his ranting.

My eyes widened as I stopped in my tracks.

Wait? Did I hear that correctly. He stopped walking as I did and turned to look at me.

"Wha-What did you say?" I asked, my heart beating a little faster.

Did he seriously ask me to go out with him? Like a date? At that thought, my heart started to beat a little faster. A date with Caleb. But wait, what if it wasn't a date. What if it's just to hang out, I mean were always working so what if this is just his way to hang out with somebody for once.
