My dad got me up early this morning so we could go to a car dealership. I was so tired since I went to sleep this morning, but this was a great reason to get up.

I looked over at my dad confused. He isn't the same as he was. It almost seems as though he took on more cases at work to keep himself really busy. Or so he says it's the cases. Hopefully he isn't having an affair.

Why would you even think like that, Saraji? Daddy would never do anything to hurt Mama. If your own dad isn't faithful, what type of hope could I have for any other man?

Maybe I'm just tripping. My dad would never do anything that harsh. I don't think... no, he wouldn't.

"Saraji? Love, why are you looking at me like that?"

I redirected my eyes put the window as he looked for a parking spot.

"Oh no reason. I'm just wondering what my budget is."

"Let's just see what you like." He found a spot and parked. "Something tells me that's not really what was on your mind though. You know you can talk to me about anything."

Instead of speaking, I simply nodded. I wouldn't really tell him what's on my mind. He would just get all mad and defensive about the situation.

Once we got out and started looking at cars, I felt like I kid in a candy store. There were so many different colors.

I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I'm supposed to be focusing on the actual car, but I'm just thinking about the color.

There were a lot of car salesmen scattered over the parking lot, but luckily for me, they were all busy bothering somebody else.

"Oh I bet those cost a fortune." My eyes landed on some sports looking car. I looked at the paper on one of the windows and saw that they were Vipers.

"Don't worry about the price love. Just focus on the cars."

Doing just as he did helped me narrow it down to two. Either a Dodge Journey or a Charger. I thought about a Challenger, but I think that's more of a guys car. That doesn't really matter though.

One of the salesmen came over to us as I was trying to make my mind up.

By the time I got to test drive them both, my mind was made up.

After all the paperwork, my dad escorted me out to my brand new car.

Words cannot explain how thankful I am. There's no way I could possibly pay him back. I'm so thankful that that's the furthest thing from his mind, though.

"Daaaaad! Thank you so much." For the thousandth time, I hugged him and kissed his cheek multiple times. "Thank you, thank you, thank you."

He chuckled as he hugged me back.

"You're welcome baby girl." We let go of each other. "I know you want to go out and put some miles on your ride, but don't stay our too long. All your siblings are coming for dinner this evening."
