Chapter 9- Ella's "death"
"What!" Ella, Quincey and Iggy gasped. Even Axe had a shocked look on his face. Jasper laughed and said, "we're not really going to kill her. We'll plan a fake attack on Ella when she's in public and drag her under ground. Then everyone will think she's dead. Then you can live with us, Ella. You can live here where no one will hurt you."
Ella smile at the plan and said, "really! Your gonna let me live with you! For real!" Jasper nodded. "You'll be safe with us. You can live down here and no one will know your alive except us!"
Ella frowned and said, "but how am I supposed to live down here in a sewers maintenance room? I mean there's no kitchen to cook food or a bathroom or even a bed."
Iggy smiled and said, "I'll worry about that stuff. You just pack your things 'cause your moving in with us!" Ella smiled and cheered. "Yippie! This is gonna be epic!" Quincey groaned and said, "how are we gonna kill you in front of everyone? It's gonna be kinda hard to pull you underground at school."
"Oh! I know exactly what to do. At the end of this week my class has flying tests and all our parents are suppose to come! Well everyone will be walking through the graveyard to get there so you can pretend kill me here! And it will be right in front if my guardians!"
"Awesome! This is going to be perfect!" Jasper said high-fiving everyone. "Mission: Kill Ella is in action!"
...
The week went by quickly as Ella secretly snuck her things into the zombies home. Ella didn't have many items to bring. Only three dresses, some other clothes, two books and her teddy bear. She managed to fit all of that into her back pack without anyone getting suspicious.
Finally the end of the week came and Ella was ready to "die". It was breakfast when Ella told her guardians about tonight. She took a deep breath and marched up to them as they ate breakfast. "Miranda, Fredrick, I would appreciate if you would come to my school tonight to watch me take my flying test so I can get my broomstick license. Parents or guardians are required to come for the student to pass. I promise I will clean anything or do anything if you just come for a little bit!" Ella said with all the confidence she could.
"What" Fredrick scowled. "Please! I swear on my life I'll do anything you want!" Ella pleaded. Ella didn't have to worry about keeping her promises since she was going to "die" tonight.
Fredrick and Miranda paused and thought about Ella's deal. "Fine. But you'll be doing work until your dead! Ya here" Miranda snapped. Ella smiled and nodded here head. "Yes ma'am!" Ella was so happy the plan was working so far.
Quickly, Ella got ready for school. On her way there she stopped by her future home to tell the boys the plan was working.
As she fell into their house Iggy hit his head on a water pipe he was adding in the house. "Ow!" He growled. Ella smiled and said, "the plan is working so far! Are we ready for tonight?"
Jasper nodded and said, "remember, as soon as you pass my grave Quincey will pull you down." Ella grinned and nodded. She has never been more excited to die before. The irony.
Ella said goodbye to her friends and left to school where she review for the upcoming test. Thought the day Billy Hanks was giving Ella horrified looks and avoided her at all costs. Even when Stella Evans picked on Ella Billy kept his distance.
At last the moment came when Ella's death was soon behind her. The stars lit up the night sky as she walked to her school with her guardians. Her teacher welcomed them as they approached the obstacle course outside. It was more extreme that before. I
This one rose into the sky as bright lights surrounded it.
Her guardians sighed and sat down on some chairs that were sat out as the students grabbed the basic broomsticks and got ready for the test to begin. Ella kinda wished Jasper and his brothers could watch her take the test, but they had to get ready to "kill" her.
The teacher welcomed all the parents then began to explain the purpose of the obstacle course. As soon as the teacher was done the students lined up in a row with brooms between their legs.
When the horn blew students began to carefully weave through the course. Ella tried hard not to go super fast. She really wanted to get the test over with so she could continue with the plan. Ella stayed focused though. She remembered it was her goal to pass this test and earn her license.
Ella turned past a floating wall glancing at the row of judges standing on the ground, gazing up at them. Ella gulped and turned her attention back to the test. Finally Ella could see the finish line ahead of her. She smiled as her and the rest of the students cross the line causing people to clap below.
All the students flew down where they received their score. A man walked up to Ella and handed her a paper with her score printed on it.
A perfect score. Ella beamed and thanked the judge as Stella gawked at her score. "No way! You beat me! You cheated! Ella cheated!" Ella ignored her though and walked over to a table where they handed her a little card with her picture on it.
Finally Ella had gotten her license. She was so happy and couldn't wait to show Jasper and the guys about it.
Ella was handed a standard broom she could keep then walked over to her guardians with a smile on. "Thank you so much for coming! I promise I'll do anything in return!" Miranda sighed and said, "yeah, yeah. You'll be in for it. I sign at least a dozen papers!" Ella just kept smiling though.
As Ella walked home with her guardians she noticed there was many people around too for the performance that was just about to happen.
The graveyard came into view as Ella's heart began to beat hard. She took a deep breath and gripped her new broom as they stepped onto the pathway.
Ella counted down to her freedom as Jasper's headstone appeared. 3...2...1-. Ella passed his tone when nothing happened. She gulped as the feeling of her heart stopped.
Just as her foot stepped in front if Axes grave a loud scream made them stop. People ran in different directions when a woman shrieked, "zombies!"
Ella gave a small smile then put on a terrified face as she saw Jasper, Iggy and Axe play "eat the people!" Just as she took a step back a hand emerged from the ground and grabbed her ankle. She screamed as it pulled her legs into the ground. Ella grabbed onto the ground as her guardians watching horror. "Help! Help me!" Ella cried.
Suddenly, he whole body was pulled into the ground leaving the crowd in a big panic. Ella and Quincey sat in a hole of dirty, which probably was here Axes coffin was, and listen to the people screaming above.
Ella and Quincey smiled until a noise they didn't plan on hearing echoed through their heads. A gun shot.
Ella and Quincey gasped as the sound of a body hitting the ground chased Quincy to climbed to the surface. "Go back to the house! We can't risk losing you!" He snapped. Ella nodded then pushed her body down a muddy tunnel that knead to the house.
She paced back and forth waiting for all of them to get back. Just as all the screaming died down a loud cry made Ella freeze. That was Quincey's voice.
Ella frowned and ran out of the sewer maintenance room and climbed a latter to get to the surface. As she lifted up a manhole that lead to the graveyard and climbed out of it. Quickly, she ran to wear Quincey's voice came from. And what she saw made her world stop spinning completely.
