Epilogue

Ella once again, fell asleep at the kitchen counter. Jasper shuffled into the room when he noticed her. He smiled and picked her tiny body up and carried her up the stairs of the new house, into Ella's bedroom.

As he laid Ella in her bed (which was way better than the mattress Ella used to sleep on) and pulled the sheets over her boney body. Following his usual routine when tucking her into bed, he placed Ella's teddy bear under her arm as Spooky, the black cat Ella found, sat jumped up onto the bed.

Spooky let out a small meow the curled up at the foot of the bed, like he normally did. Jasper turned his attention back to Ella who huddled into a ball like she did every time she went to bed.

Jasper looked at the little miracle worker and brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her head goodnight. As he left the room, he turned off the lights, engulfing the room in the nights darkness.

After that, Jasper made his way to the basement, where him and his brothers now live. As he staggered down the stairs, he could hear his brothers yell at each other while playing a video game.

As he stepped down from the stairs he groaned, "hey! Be quiet. Ella's asleep." Quincey and Iggy turned towards Jasper and nodded.

Jasper walked over to the couch and sat down beside Axe who just starred blankly at the television screen.

Just as the game ended Iggy said, "hey bro. I'm not sure if this is a problem, but someone's been standing outside the house for a while. He hasn't knocked or anything. He's just standing there."

Jasper frowned and said, "what does he look like?" Iggy shrugged. "Can't see him that well in the dark. He's wearing a long coat and I think he has a scarf around his neck.

Now Jasper was curious and suspicious. "Does he look like a threat?" Iggy paused and said, "not yet." Jasper and his brothers turned their attention back to the TV, unaware that their lives were about the take a deadly spin.

...

That night would be the first of many nights Ella struggles to get some sleep. She tossed and turned in her bed as the disturbing images of Shadow Monsters she'd never seen before swarm after her.

They look more scary, evil and cruel. And they were closing in on her. Ella's heart raced faster and faster before she fell into empty darkness.

Ella's eyes shot open as she sat up in cold sweat. Her tiny hands were shaking as voice echoed in her head and shadows flashed around the room.

Whatever, or whoever these things were, they did not like Ella at all. And that resulted in Ella going mad.
