Beep! beep! beep!
The timer began to flash as it had reached the zero mark. Jay's eyes shot open in confusion, as four men strode through the now open door, and yanked him from the top bunk, and pulled him out the door. "Hey, you don't have to-" he was cut off as one of the men slapped him across the face.
"Quiet." He hissed into Jay's ear.
"Hey, there's no need for that." Andy stood in front of the group. The man released Jay and took a step back.
"Yes sir."
"I'll be taking him from here."
"Yes sir." The men turned and walked away, and down another hall until he heard a door close in the distance.
Andy sighed. "Let's go." Jay followed him to an elevator. Andy pressed the button and the doors opened with a ding. He pushed the number four button, which lit up. The elevator began to ascend, beeping each time it passed a floor. Jay then realized that they had been held far underground, although he remembered no elevator getting to the room. The doors finally opened and Jay followed Andy out and down another hall, and to a solid steel door. Andy knocked twice, and the door buzzed before opening.
"Good luck." Andy whispered to Jay as he entered the room. The door swung shut behind him. A secretary looked at him and then at the narrow hall in front of him. She continued to type on her computer. Jay continued down the small access hall until he reached an open space that resembled a meeting room at his father's office.
There were three people sitting at the long table. Jared, a short man who was clearly not American, and an Asian woman. Jared and the woman wore the regular suits, while the small man wore white, and appeared to be a doctor.
"Have a seat." Jared said gruffly. Jay complied, sitting directly across from Jared. "Where did you get that?" Jared pointed at the forming bruise on Jay's forehead.
"Just one of the men who brought me here."
Jared's eyes narrowed. "Mao, see to it that all of them are punished, they did not follow my instructions."
"Yes." The woman nodded.
"Jay." Jared's attention was back on him. "Do know why you are here?"
"No."
"Liar. You should know by now."
"But, I really don't."
"This situation is not in your favor. You know what we want from you, and it's in your best interest to give it to us."
"But I honestly don't know why I'm here, or what you want!" Jay burst out.
"Jay." Jared leaned forward. "Do you know who this man is?" He jerked his head toward the small foreign man.
"No." Jay shook his head.
"You should be glad." Jared say back into his chair. "Because if you ever become aquainted while you're here, may God have mercy on your
soul." Jay gulped."There is nothing further. You are dismissed."
Jay stood and began to leave.
"One more thing." Jay turned and looked at Jared. "Even if not for your sake, how about for that pretty little girl's? It would be a shame if something happened to her."
Jay cringed and felt sick as Jared smirked, happy with the reaction he got. Jay turned and headed back out of the room, his head filled with bad thoughts of what might happen if he acted wrong.
