It's been almost three weeks. Three weeks I've been here, with Hailey. They've only given me their poison once, but that was almost two weeks ago. We've hardly had any visits, but they've upgraded our room a lot. We've gotten a flat screen T.V., and a ton more books, but nothing that could let us connect with the outside world.

"Jay?" Hailey called from the couch.

"Yeah?" He answered, breaking away from his thoughts.

"Wanna watch a movie with me?"

"Sure." Jay inwardly sighed, watching movies and reading books had been their life for two weeks straight. It sure beat being poisoned. "Which one."

"I dunno. Come help me pick."

"Okay." Jay headed over to his girlfriend, glancing at the timer that had gone blank a while ago. She had four movies in her hands. They eventually narrowed it down to The Aristocats, which was Jay's favorite when he was younger. He had almost starred in the show, but he messed up the audition. It was why he had always been nervous singing in front of people. He put the movie in the player, and sat down on the couch next to Hailey. She pulled a blanket over the two and rested her head on his shoulder, almost sitting on his lap. Jay blushed as the movie began to play.

"I feel like you are a lot like Thomas O'Malley." Hailey muttered. "And I'm Duchess."

"You sure are my Duchess." He returned, twirling her perfect blonde hair around his finger. The movie eventually came to a song, which Jay involuntarily began to murmur the words, Hailey giggling, and eventually joining in. They stayed that way until the end of the movie, when everybody was dancing.

"I wish I went to the dance last year." Hailey said, grabbing the remote and switching off the television.

"I wish I would've asked you." Jay said, blushing and looking away. "Besides, I'm not much of a dancer." Hailey pushed herself off of him, and tossed the blanket aside. She selected a CD and placed it in the player, letting soft music play through the speakers. She walked back to him and held out a hand.

"What are you doing?"  He asked.

"I want to dance, and you said you can't, so I might as well show you." She smiled her dazzling smile that made Jay's insides twist into a knot.

"I never said I couldn't." Taking her hand and being pulled off of the couch. He placed one hand on her waist and kept the other in hers as he felt his shoulder heat up from her other hand. They moved in synch around the room, never stepping on each other's feet. Jay spun Hailey around, returning to their original position as the song changed to a slower one. Hailey wrapped her arms around her neck and Jay placed his on both sides of her waist.

"Not much of a dancer, huh?" Hailey asked, staring in his eyes. Jay returned her stare, getting lost in her gaze.

"I-" he was at a loss for words. So he just smirked. "You liked it though."

"Of course." Hailey blushed and looked away.

"Great. I'm glad I could show you how to-mmpf" he was cut off as she pressed her lips to his. He quickly shut his eyes and pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. After what felt like an eternity, they finally pulled apart, panting.

"That was our first kiss." Hailey blushed.

"Wow." Jay felt his face was red as well. But, sadly, all good things must come to an end. That stupid timer went off. It cut through the music, causing Jay and Hailey to break apart and cover their ears. Men rushed through the door, followed by Jared, who tossed a silver object to the ground with a thump.

"One lives one dies. Simple as that." He began to leave but turned back before reaching the door. "Oh, and if you waste that, I will choose for you, and I don't think either of you will like that." He exited the room, followed by the rest of the men. Jay stared at the object. It was a gun.

"No." He whispered.

"Jay?"

"No!" He screamed, backing away, hitting the wall behind him, breathing heavily as his vision swayed.

"Look at me!" He began to focus on the girl in front of him, holding his face and crying. "Please!"

"Hailey!" He sobbed, falling to his knees, bringing her with him. He nuzzled into her shoulder, and let his tears escape. He felt his shirt getting wet from her tears, but he didn't care.

"Hailey." Jay eventually calmed down enough. He broke the embrace. "Baby, please look at me." He tilted her chin upward so her eyes met his. "You know what this means."

She was still crying, holding his shirt in her hands, squeezing the material so hard her knuckles turned white.

"T-their making us choose..."

"Between each other."

She buried her face in his chest, crying harder. "Hailey." He lifted her head again. "It has to be me."

"No..." She shook her head lightly. "I won't let you." Tears streamed down her face.

"I have to protect you."

"No, you can't!" She raised her voice, becoming hysterical. "I won't let you!"

They both stood up. "It has to be this way. Jay murmured.

"But it doesn't." Hailey's eyes widened with realization. "It can be me." She whispered. Jay gasped as she lunged from his arms toward the weapon, but Jay caught her from behind, and pulled her back toward him, squeezing her against him.

"Never. Let's think about this." He let her to the bunk bed, sitting her down, closer to the gun, but he kept an arm around her waist as he silently grabbed another silver object that one of the men had set there. Jay hoped Hailey hadn't noticed it.

"O-okay." She started to calm down. She swiped a hand over her nose, which Jay would've thought to be disgusting under different circumstances. He sighed. It had to be done.

He leaned toward her ear. "I'm sorry." He swiftly handcuffed her left arm to the bed post and hopped away from her, scooping up the gun in the process. She struggled against the binding, her anger renewed.

"Please stop, your going to hurt yourself."

"You can stop this right now, Jay." She sobbed, straining against the metal, which dig into her wrist, probably causing pain.

"It's okay. You can be safe now." He knelt down on the floor, bringing the gun up to the side of his head.

"Stop." Her voice cracked.

Jay stared at her, memorizing her, he wanted her to be the last thing he saw. He smiled through the pain, and his own tears. "I love you." He said, just so she could hear it, but she only cried harder, screaming at him to stop.

He cocked the hammer.

"Hailey, look away." She ignored him, and stretched a hand out toward him.

The music was still playing.

He pulled the trigger.

BAM! Cliffhanger. Haha. I'd be surprised if this even got to fifteen chapters. But thank you for (almost) 100 views. It means a lot to me.
