Chapter 5: Yagami Backwards Is Im-A-Gay

Your POV

I was the second one to finish and obviously, L was the first. 

L and Light tied up whilst I was sent to the second place. I spotted them both, talking in front of the results, so I went in and greeted them.

"Congrats Ryuga!" I said, giving him a big smile. I faced Light, flashing him another large smile. It was hard resisting my usual smirk, although I managed. "Congratulations too Yagami-san! You both did amazing." I complimented, bowing to him in a respectful way.

"Thank you. Wait, you know Ryuga?" 

"Yeah, we actually chattered for a bit before the exams. Oh, wait! I didn't tell you my name yet. Well that's rude. I'm (f/n) Yamazaki." 

"It's nice to meet you, you already know my name but- I'm Light Yagami." He replied, flashing a friendly smile. A fake on obviously. What's up with smiles today?

We shook hands and I immediately retreated it back. I don't like touching people, don't get me wrong, I'm not disgusted of some sort. But I prefer to be the one on the sidelines, watching, and not getting in contact. Strange, I know.

It was the time for a speech ceremony or something, everyone were spreading rumors and chit-chatting about L and Light while I lazily sat on my chair with a bored expression plastered in my face. When it was L's turn to speak, I noticed that even with the bright lights, there wasn't anything written on the paper.
, not surprised. 

Both geniuses sat back to their chairs after their speeches. L's mouth started moving, a serious look was on his face when he faced the caramel-haired man beside him. 

Luckily, my seat was behind L so I can hear what they're talking about.

"I want to tell you, that I'm L."

I snickered, the glint in my eye was possibly growing.

This is getting better! I'm so excited! Light must be so conflicted right now, even if he is or isn't Kira. And he knows, he knows that he's being suspected.

Right then and there, when I looked at Light's reaction. I was surprised. It was amazing.  He's... He's shaking. I love it, a new reaction from him! Who knew that he could be so nervous?

Light, there's now a 23% chance you're Kira. Though L, why? Why didn't you notice that?  

"If you're really who you say you are. Then you have nothing but my respect and admiration." Light replied rather calmly. Not really how a person would tell someone a compliment, especially when they 'respect' and 'admire' that someone. Not like them fangirls though anyway.

"Thank you. The reason I told you this is because you can be a great help to the Kira investigation." L replied back blankly like how he always did.

I looked away for precautions. Light might notice me staring and listening at their conversation. And really L? Inviting a Prime Suspect to the investigation? Quite silly. But still, it can lead to the arrest of Kira. If Light really is Kira, then it would either be a benefit or a downfall for him.

To be honest, I'm not on anyone's side here. I have nothing to fight for anyway, I just thought that this would be a very interesting case. No personal feelings added. Besides, I need to ask L some questions too.

There was a huge tension on the air, I'm sure of it. I can even cut it with a knife if I have to.

'Hmm, this girl surely heard everything. I saw her looking at them and listening in. There's something very strange about her.' Ryuk thought and his already wide eyes widened even more when he saw her name.

After the ceremony, I saw L approach Light. Argh, just what is this cute little panda planning? What? Cute? I need to go to the doctor's office later.

L went into the car and rode off. Wait! Is he just leaving me here? I was about to run up to him when I realized it'll bring Light suspicions about who I am. I can't let him know about me working with L... yet.

That's what L told me anyways.

I randomly walked around the campus, I don't feel like going back yet to the headquarters. Everyone's so stiff and formal, I don't like it that much. We're always working 24/7, it's getting too boring. 

I took out my gaming device and started playing while I walked. Meh, what's the chance of me randomly bumping into someone? Even if I really bump into someone then it would never be Light. So I'm good.

Speaking of which, I already bumped into someone. The impact was kinda hard that I fell to the ground, pretended to atleast. I mean, it would be weird if I didn't fall off my butt. I looked up and great.

It's Light.

I should stop making deductions now, they're all coming true.

"Hey? Are you okay?" Light asked which cut me off from my thoughts. He held out his hand and attempted to help me up. I took his offer and stood up, brushing off dust from my clothes.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I said and shrugged, keeping my gaming device back to my pockets.

"Yeah. I could tell. You're (f/n) Yamazaki right? The one who I've met earlier and the one who scored second on the exams."Light replied.

"Yep. That'd be me." I shrugged.

"Well uh, do you wanna exchange numbers? We'll be school mates anyway and it's nice to meet someone like you." He said. Strange, is that really the reason?

"Uhm sure, Here." We exchanged numbers and after that, we separated to our own paths. 

Heh, I wonder what he's thinking about me. He's smart, he might be suspecting me right now. He might even figure out that I have an alias already, no. I'm sure he already knows.

Whatever, he's cute too though.

Okay, I need a check up.

"Uhm. I don't find anything wrong with that Ma'am. Actually, it's quite normal." The doctor with brunette hair and teal eyes said.

"What? You mean that you don't find anything wrong with me?" I asked, looking at him strangely.

He chuckled. "No, it's completely normal. I have those thoughts too." The doctor insisted.

"If you say so. Thanks anyway Doctor..." I trailed off seeing as I don't know his name. 

"Eren Yeager." He said with a smile. I gave him a small fake one and checked out of the clinic.

Yes, what you thought was right. I really did went here to have a check up if I'm mentally stable. No. I'm not stupid! I'm just making sure!

Omniscient's POV

Ryuk drifted to his own thoughts after Light had an insane break down after what happened on the ceremony. 'Why can't I see her name?'

Out of the blue, Y/N jumped up from her seat. Her eyes wide in realization. The task force was asking her what's wrong. But she seemed to ignore them.

Y/N suddenly screamed.

"I realized something very important... YAGAMI BACKWARDS IS IM-A-GAY!"
