Echo awoke with a bright light shining on her face. She sat up and tried to collect her surroundings. She seemed to be sitting on a hospital bed and the room she was in looked like an infirmary. There was a table beside her with some bread and water; upon looking at the food items, her stomach growled and her mouth suddenly felt dry. She ate the bread and drank the water down to the last drop. She checked her wrist and was relieved that the watch was still there. She quietly got off the cot and felt cold as soon as her bare feet touched the floor. She looked through the windows in the room and saw that it was dark outside. She took a few steps forward before stepping on something. She lifted her foot and examined the object; it was a small, white feather. She froze and dropped the feather when she heard a voice. She looked around for something to defend herself and her eye fell on a scalpel. She grabbed it and slowly walked towards the voice. The owner was singing in a foreign language. "Danke Schon, na na, Danke schon", he sang in German. When she got to the doorway, she saw the owner. The man looked to be in his late thirties. He had short black hair and a strong jawline. He wore a white button up shirt with a cream vest over it and a red tie and he had small round glasses perched on the top of his nose. "Handsome", she thought. "Come on Echo, this isn't the time to fall in love", her subconscious screamed, so she pressed a little button on the watch and went invisible. She sneaked around the desk he was sitting behind and became visible behind him. She clamped a hand over his mouth and pressed the blade of the scalpel against his neck. He started to struggle against her grip; she whispered harshly in his ear, "Sie sprechen Englisch?", and he nodded. "Okay, I'm going to let you go and you're going to tell me everything I want to know, but if you try calling for help or run away, I'll slit your throat, understand?" He nodded. She released her grip and backed away slowly. The German turned to look at her, caution flashing in his icy blue eyes. "First question, who are you?", she asked while holding the scalpel in front of him. (Yeah, I'm not doing his accent)"I am the Medic, and you are?" "I'm asking the questions here, Herr Doktor. Second question, where is my bag?" Medic raised an eyebrow at her and pointed to a messenger bag near the door. "You mean that bag over there?", he questioned. She went over to the bag and checked it's contents. Everything was in its place, but she was looking for one thing in particular. She felt relief when her fingers brushed up against the reptiles scales. She pulled her pet bush viper Raissa out of the bag and stroked its head. It slithered underneath her tank and relaxed once it got comfortable. (This is what Raissa looks like.)
She went back over to Medic and asked him one final question. "Third question, do you have any intention to harm me?" He looked at her with sad eyes and spoke with a gentle voice. "No. I don't have intentions to harm you in any way. I only wish to help you, frau." Then he gave her a smile that made her cheeks heat up. "I...I believe you Medic. Also, my name, it's Echo." She was about to say something else when the voice of a scrawny adolescent broke the silence. "Hey doc, I was going to ask if-", his voice was cut off when 95 pounds of Brazilian fire tackled him to the floor. "Que e voce?", Echo screamed in Portuguese. Only a choking noise came out. "Que?" "You're standing on my throat", the boy said weakly. She quickly got off of him and apologized, while asking his name. "I'm the Scout, and don't try tackling the others because you'd probably be dead." "There are others!?", Echo asked a little suprised. "Ja, there are others. I could introduce you, if you like?", Medic said. She nodded, both nervous and anxious to meet the team. Medic led her out of the room with Scout following close behind. And thus began Echo's adventures on Team RED.
