Chapter Three

Alivia Durrant

"How did it go!" My dad jumped out of the office chair, nearly smacking his head on the ceiling.

"I-I made it in, I'm apart of the school!" I slowly departed my lips, not believing that I actually was accepted. Why was I accepted? I'm so, not great. I jumped into his long arms as he kissed my forehead.

"I knew you would," He was to the point of crying, tears of joy of course. I felt so special, ha just kidding. "Come on, let's go celebrate!"

"C-Celebrate? What do you want to do?" I asked.

"Starbucks? I know how much you love it," He giggled, tickling my sides.

"Dad stop," I groaned, pushing him away from me. For one thing, I was very ticklish and hated when people touched me. "We can go to Starbucks, that would be great."

"Okay kiddo, let's go," He grabbed my arm and pulled me out the door. It always embarrassed me how my mom and dad would call me kiddo, referring to me as their little girl. But I'm obviously an adult.

We drove to the Starbucks store that I'd always go to. It was pretty close to my house, so if I wanted to walk I could. When entering the store I noticed a large group of college boys, standing by the cash register. One seemed to be flirting with the blonde employee, but she didn't seem interested what so ever.

He was rather cute and had brown hair and sea green eyes. But you could tell by the way he talked to the poor employee, he was a fuck boy.

"We should wait over here dad," I forced a smile, motioning him to not walk near the group of guys. I just knew he'd try everything in his power to defend her.

"Why hunny? I though you wanted Starbucks?" My clueless little dad widened his eyes, still forcing a laugh.

"Dad I do, can you just get over here!" I demanded, making it obvious that I was annoyed with him.

"Here take this money, I need to use the restroom," As he handed me the money and raced towards the restrooms, I noticed the guys back way, seating theirselves at a table close to the counter. I attempted to face my fear, and approached the counter to buy my drink.

You can do this Alivia. No problem at all!

I faked a smile, departing my lips as the lady blankly stared at me, "C-Can I get a Vanilla bean frappuccino?"

"Okay, is that all for you today?" She rose her eyebrow, typing something into her little computer.

"I like Vanilla Bean," The guy who was flirting with the cashier approached me, leaning against the counter and staring up at me.

I glared back at him, rolling my eyes after.

"Come on babe, I'm trying to be friendly," He chuckled attempting to wrap his arm around me, but I quickly backed away.

"Get away from me, I'm not interested!" I growled, looking the opposite direction.

"Just leave her alone mate, and while you're at it, leave me alone to," The cashier said, sounding pretty convincing.

"I'm just talking to the pretty girl, that's not illegal is it?" He cocked his head, looking around the room to see if anyone would back him up.

"Get away from me you creep!" I rose my voice.

"Here's your drink, that will be $4.56," The lady sighed, handing me my drink as I handed her the money my dad gave me.
