Chapter Ten

Alivia Durrant

"Alivia, wake up! Alivia!" My professor hollered, causing me to jolt backwards roughly, "Someone is here to see you," When I got out of my seat, I could barely see anything. I was too tired to open my eyes so I made the decision to walk out of the room with my eyes closed.

"Livy," I heard his voice. The one person I had ran away from the night before, my half brother Harry. He had caught me with a boy.

And damn I sound like a sixth grader, and somehow Harry is my father.

"Jesus Christ, what do you want Harry? For once can you stop following me?" I said in my deep morning voice, rubbing my eyes, "I am almost twenty. I'm an adult, and can make my own decisions."

"I don't want you to be stupid! Especially with a boy like him," He scowled, folding his arms like a child who wasn't getting their own way.

"You sound like my father. Let me tell you something brother. You aren't. So goodbye."

"I'm the closest thing you have," He grabbed my arm as I tried to walk away, "So please. Hear me out."

"I heard you out my entire life. Why do you think I'm a nerd who reads and writes books all day. No guy has liked me for that reason, until Louis," I lashed out, "Louis actually likes me."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that."

"What. You think he's too good for me?" I uttered a laugh, "Maybe you're right. He is too good for me. But he likes me. And that's all that matters."

He didn't respond. He looked down at his feet with his lips parted. And I made the decision to walk back to my dorm, were I could Rest In Peace.

Louis

"So, how was Alivia last night?" My friend Austin asked me, as I pretended to read some book that I didn't give a damn about. My roommate had spread the word as usual.

"Good. She's pretty special," I smiled to myself.

"So, whose next?"

Of course he expected me to move from girl to girl. But I was oddly attached to Alivia, from the moment I met her— I just had that feeling. "Have you ever been in love Austin?"

He stared at me for a brief moment, than burst into laughter, "You're shitting me, right? Have I ever been in love? You're the king of this school, you can get any girl you want."

"Answer the question."

"Promise me you won't tell anyone else this," He finally gave me a serious expression for once, "I fell in love with a girl once. Remember Dal? It broke my heart leaving her, just to impress my friends."

"Fuck man," I remembered how hard I bashed Austin to move to the next girl. Our group of friends, it was pretty much fuck and move on. People considered me the leader of the group— fucking stupid ass group. And I was the asshole who made him break his girls heart. I made fun of him for spending so much time with her, "That was my fault, and now I'm in the same situation as you. Please forgive me."

"Unlike some people, I like to move on with my life," He sighed, "So, I'll keep your secret if you keep mine. So tell me, what do you like about Alivia Durrant so much? She's a brainiac."

"It may seem impossible because we're completely different than each other. She is smart, beautiful, always, and annoyingly right. I just love her. Is that even possible? I've never felt this way before."
