The next morning, Katniss woke up early. Peeta was still sound asleep next to her. She crept out of bed quietly and went downstairs.
I'll make breakfast for everyone today for a change, thought Katniss, as she quietly pulled out a frying pan and a package of bacon. She sizzled some bacon in the pan and proceeded to make up some hash brow mixture and cooked it in the same pan. She left in on the stove for a moment to put the heater on in the living room. Better turn the stove off before I forget before I go exploring the house, thought Katniss. She quickly put the food on plates in the kitchen and turned the stove off. She returned to the living room. Something caught her eye. A brass knob; in the middle of the wall. Why would they put a brass knob in the middle of the wall? thought Katniss. Katniss went over and pulled the knob. Nothing happened. It must be decorative, thought Katniss. She accidentally leant on the knob. It twisted, and revealed a secret door.
What Katniss saw behind the door left her in a state of utter surprise.
