-Recap-
I stared at the man in front of me, “Do you know someone called Skye?”
“Yes, I know.” He answered me hesitantly.
“Is she my donor?”
“Yes.” I could see from the expression on his face that he was torn, when he answered me that question. Was this his right choice or not? But, I knew that he told me the truth.
“Is she your daughter-in-law?” I asked him confidently.
“Yes, she is.”
“Are Matt and Dean your sons?”
“Yes.” He answered me again. I could see the pain in his eyes, when he said that.
Gosh! So, it’s true. Some of my assumptions are true.

“Why don’t you tell me, Vince? You are her family too, right? So, you have the right to do that!” I demanded an explanation from him. He didn’t exactly lie to me, but he was their family. He should have said something to me.
“I can’t Rose! You know my life story! I am not a part of their life. After Dean got married, the one that told him to forgive me was Skye. But after her death, he was a changed man!” He yelled at me.
I felt bad at him and guilty at the same time. I was too focused on my own curiosity and I didn’t think of his feelings. I bet it was hard for him too, but he was very clever at masking his feelings. I understand now why he said sons instead of son. Dean forgave him, but Matt still didn’t forgive him. He only got one of his sons back and after the accident Dean has changed too. I bet it was because of the scandal.
For the Matt part, I would try my hardest to bring both of them closer. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Skye could do that, why couldn’t I?
“I’m sorry, Vince. It’s just I am a bit stressed.” I apologized to him.
He sighed and nodded at me. He accepted my apology. His frustrated face changed into a relieved one. He hugged me and said, “It’s okay, Rose. I’m sorry that I yelled at you. I . . . I don’t know what to think anymore.”
I hugged him back and said, “I know. Uhm- Vince . . .” I trailed off. I didn’t know whether I should tell him or not. Would Matt get angry to me if I told Vince? Ugh- I would just pretend that I knew nothing. I will try to get them in a better relationship later.
“Yes?” He asked me.
“Have you ever talked to Matt, when you meet each other in this hospital?” I asked him.
“He always tries to stay away from me. So, no. I never meet him directly. If we are paired for the same patients, we never stay or check the patient at the same time. I know it’s not effective, but the owner knows about us. But there is nothing that he can do.” He looked so sad and it made me feel sad too.
“Then, why does he work at the same hospital with you?” I asked him and furrowed my eyebrows. This fact made me so confused. Usually, we would stay away from the one that we hated, right?
“This is where she died.” He said it quietly. Without another explanation, I already knew what he meant. This was the hospital where his wife or Matt’s mom died. He respected her mom and ignored the dispute between him and his father, then worked here. He was such a sweetheart. I made up my mind; I would try to persuade Matt, like what Skye did.
I wanted to distract Vince, so I asked him, “Do you remember what you said to me about your son?”
“Huh? Which one?” He looked so confused.
