I can love
things just by
watching her love
them.
That is how I know
that I love
Her.

Akira awoke from her nearly restless night, a night of her constantly waking up at odd hours, feeling groggy. "How did I get on the bed? I need to get out of here. I'm so light headed. What day is it?" She asked herself. The sentence played through her mind. Some were calm, some were panicked. The worst ones, locked away for now.
"It's Sunday and you missed your dinner, breakfast and lunch." This was the last voice she wanted to hear. "If you stay asleep you'll miss another meal. But I can always eat it for you."
"Get out of my head." She weakly mumbled. Her voice was barely there, it was hoarse like. Cradling her knees against her chest she laid still with her hands over her ears.
"Get out of mines." He chuckled back flipping through the newspaper left at their door yesterday. "You people have a lot of issues in this... America." He thought aloud. There was a longing silence between them. Until Àngel conclusively broke it "Come eat Akira."
"I don't feel well." She replied.
He walked over to the bed he laid her on last night, leaning over her. In doing so his scent brushed under her nose. He smelled like chocolate and toasted marshmallows put into one. He gave her the glass of water and she reluctantly sat up and drunk the entire cup. Her throat had been feeling like the sahara desert moved in her mouth and the water drove it out.
She muttered a quick thank you as he departed preparing a plate of food for her. Akira couldn't understand why her was making sure she was taken care off. She knew it couldn't have been from the kindness of his heart. He sat her the plate of food on the bedside table and went back to the his table. He sat slowly consuming his food. The more gradual he ate, the more his mind was diverted from her. Àngel knew that if he finished to fast he wouldn't be able to not think about her or look at her once.
Akira gradually feared to be anywhere near him. She was afraid that he would hurt her. Again. But she felt this pull towards him that she couldn't shake. She looked towards Àngel who was boasting in his feast. Chugging down his cup of water. She tried to search for who he was in her mind, "was he always like this she pondered". Once he put the glass down his demeanor changed knowing she was staring at him. He commenced cleaning so they can leave and get back on the road.
Without looking at her he said, "Shower now. Your new clothes are already in there."Out of the corner of his eye he saw as she descended into the bathroom and lightly shut the door. He let out an exasperated breath he didn't know he was holding in. His head fell in his hands.
"What is happening to me?" He thought, dragging his fingers through his hair. "I need air"While putting their bags in the car, he was extra conscientious with the bag that had Akira's belongings in it. More importantly the picture that use to sit in her parents room. The worked out picture seemed to mean a lot to her and much to his dismay he care about that. Through it was torn up to the point where only she was in it, she held that picture like it was her own heart.
When he went back into the room Akria was putting on her jacket. "Door's unlocked." Àngel spoke to her mind. He caught a wiff of her scent and growled lowly. Almost wolf like. He became aroused by her intoxicating scent. Especially the coconut potion of it.
Àngel quickly shook the thoughts that began formulating off and threw the key on the bed before slamming the door shut.Akira, who walked to the car slowly, wondered where they were heading to next. Was it the place he had been talking about? She knew nothing was ever going to be safe as long as she was with him and running wasn't an option anymore. She was torn between feeling safe and unsafe. Would he protect her or hurt her again? How would she protect herself from him? She was sufficiently certain that if she was a little lighter that you would be able to perceive the bruise on her neck on first glance. What Akira didn't know was how much Àngel regretted it.
