My mind is
still having trouble
wrapping itself around
the fact that
you're gone

Ominous shadows crawled on the ways of the tunnels as panic and chaos teamed up above us. His daring eyes watched mines as we taunted one another. Pressing tension corrupting the surrounding influence, my fear for Akira's safety heightening at every drop of sweat that ran down my back and over my torso. The match was out numbered and part of me worried about the challenges I faced with lewd intentions. Would I be forced to kill my sister?

As Aurelian took a step forward, his foot scratching against the ground below him, I rubbed my palms together in anticipation. It was the sound of Akira biting at her nails that forced me to finally blink, something I had been reluctant to do since I was here-- standing down my uncle. I stepped forward in return.

"What you got there in your pocket nephew?" He asked me. I'd almost forgotten about my souvenir, my gift. My shoulders let out a bit of tension as I smirked to myself. Knowing this would piss him off and he'd come for me head first.

His eyes closely followed my movements-- as did my sisters-- while I reached in my pocket to pull out the clothed wrapped gift. "Just something for you." I tossed it to him, the exchange almost successfully complete if he was the one who caught it.

Aurelian mumbled something to Azara, something I was to far to hear but quick to guess what it was as she slowly began to unravel the body part wrapped in cloth. It felt like things moved in slow motion as his eyes widened and his nostrils flared. His fist crumbled and his eyebrows puckered together before his bared teeth were grinding so hard against on another, his cheeks shook. Rage painted itself on his face.

"I should've killed her when I first got her!" He barked. My uncles fist rose in the air as he snatched himself from Azara's grasp, making her stumble back in return and fall on he ass. He stepped-- right foot first-- forward. "My mistake. It won't happen again" His tone was sinful, full of promise. As if he'd have another chance.

"Again? Did I not tell you uncle? There is no second chances." Our intentions became the same as we ran towards each other with the animalistic goal to kill.

I could hear my heart pounding, as well as a ringing in my ears. My gut clenched when his eyes glistened with a lethal look. Azara's eyes went round, flickering with worry and then fear. She and I connected eyes for a brief moment, he mouth fell open and I could tell she had let out an ear-curdling scream, terror overtook her features. I couldn't tell who it was for. Me or my uncle, though their relationship was borderline incestuous, her arms reached for him instead of me. If I didn't know any better I'd say she was relieved when he got ahold of my heart before I could his.

"Right." He began to say in undertone, his voice had malice laced all around it and secured tight. "No second chances"
I fell to the ground knees first as the fingers that wrapped around my heart, breaking through my rib cage in the process, was torn from my chest.

Hearing Akira's death-like screams rang in my ears. It played on replay as I laid flat on the cold surface below us all. My only line of eye-sight were their boots. Including Azara's retreating ones.

Aurelian-- my tortured uncle-- stood over me cackling a fit. I faintly heard him announce "smile you're on tv".

I reached out for Akira, my body becoming increasingly numb.
