It was words that I fell for.
In the end, it was words
That broke my heart
~Lang LeavThe silence in the car as we headed towards his destination was void. An itching silence that seeps into your pours but not the kind that eats you alive. Very few words were passed, he became fond of gestures and just moving. Instead of verbalized commands he'd just start moving and if I'm not following he'd send a glare that said "what are you doing?".
I'm not psychic, at least I don't think I am. These silent threatening commands needed to settle somewhere else. The entire time I felt cowardly. Every time I opened my mouth to speak nothing came out. It was like mind knew what to say but the vocal cords didn't want anything to come out. It's like there's this large lump in my throat. Most likely liable to what took place a few days ago.
Now, we follow the commands of a GPS that I'm pretty sure is taking us nowhere. At least that's what I can see from the backseat. According to the map our destination consisted of basically no civilization. I mean seriously... not a gas station nor a fast food restaurant in sight. We also have been driving for what feels like hours. It's moments like this where I'm glad I know how to hold my bladder, if I didn't this backseat would be destroyed. Ángel actually listening to someone other than himself is also kind of shocking, I really never would've guessed he had the potential to do so.
"I have to pee"
He eyed me through the rear view mirror and let out his manly signature grunt. Such a drama queen and a bitch. You would think he was a bodyguard, not necessarily mines, but like one of those bodyguards who just make noise and never open their mouths. For someone who claims to be this mature adult he sure knows how to act like a child.
Scarcely I began talking again. "I should've urinated back there but you- you're look on your face was saying no. I'm sorry." I tightly pulled my thighs together, holding them close with my hands.Ángel reached over to the glove compartment and after opening it grabbed a bottle that he then tossed back to me.
He held a look on his face that said "you may piss"
The bottle and I held each other's attention as I contemplated whether I should or not.
There are so many things that can go wrong with me, this bottle and my bladder in this backseat."You have reached your destination."
"Praise the higher power" I mumbled incoherently. A weight sat on my stomach, my bladder felt ready to burst. I heard him sigh to himself as he continued driving at a slow pace through this batch of trees and dirt. My first feeling was worry as I saw how dark it was and secluded the area was too.
I chuckled. I'm gonna die today, who knew he was gonna shoot me in the middle of my forehead and throw me off a cliff -- besides Ángel.
"What? Why-- Ángel you can let me go. I'll fall off the grid and never come back on your radar I promise you. Please." I could barely form the words, stumbling and trying my best not to do so over my words. I cried. "We...we can both just forget meeting...we c-can forget meeting eachother...okay?...Okay?""Hmph" he grunted as he continued his goal, pressing buttons and whatnot. When did this car get so many buttons? Why hadn't I noticed them sooner to press then before we got here to him murdering me and no one being around to report me missing and getting the police to find me. "Stay"
Ángel put the gears in park before relinquishing himself of his safety belt and stepping out the car. There was a lever he pulled too that did nothing...at least I think so. As soon as the driver door shut I went for those buttons. There were labels on them and the touch screen also had writing. In another language...unfortunately I did not know it.
Shit. "SHIT!" I cursed. Biting my lips and taking a chance I pressed everything glowing. Green, Red, Yellow, all of it. The car spoke and the handle in the middle began moving. The screen showed the only other thing I recognized besides colors, a palm scanner.
