I don't think I've ever been so eager to know something in my entire life.
Mr.Perez showed no emotion on his face as he read the paper. Damn, does it really take that long? Maybe he's just interested in reading it. I need to calm down.
"Mali?"
"Yes Jay?"
"I love you and the babies no matter what the results are. Just know that." I felt her lean against me more, which caused me to slightly smile. "I love you too, and I'm sorry."
I reached back for her hand, and she gave it to me. "We have some things we need to work out. But we can make it through. No doubt."
"Even if they aren't yours?"
I chuckled then deeply exhaled. That's a thought that that's been on my mind ever since Dave showed up. Sleepless nights. Lack of food. Just wondering, hoping, and praying that I am their biological father. It would be hard as hell at first, but I think Malia and I could be together either way. I was just about to respond to her, but her granddad started talking.
"Looks like neither of you have to worry about that. Jahlil, I'm proud to tell you that you are the father of Malina and Isabelle."
A tear slid down my face. Malia let out a sob. We turned to each other and kissed each other.
Oh Lord, what a relief. I feel so bad for wondering about if they were mine. I knew they were.
Can I say that I'm about to start a happy...or at least decent chapter in my life.

Baby boy: I have a surprise for you. Open the door for me.
"What is he talking about?" I smiled then paused my movie. I got up and went over to the door to open it. Tears instantly filled my eyes. As shocking as this sounds, they aren't tears of sorrow. They are tears of joy. Tears that I rarely cry.
My son, and my daughter in law walked up my porch stairs carrying adorable baby girls!
"Ma what's wrong?" Jahlil and Malia came in the house. I laughed then shook my head.
"Nothing! Now gimme my grandbabies!"
I sat on the couch and they gave me both of them, one for each arm. This is my first time seeing them, and I couldn't be more happier. They are a part of Jahlil! But they look more like their gorgeous mother. They're only a few days old though, who knows how beautiful they'll end up being. They're already beautiful. Oh, what am I saying? I don't know! I'm happy!
There's only one concern I have. The distance between Jahlil and his babies. They'll be living with Malia in Macon I assume. They need to be together as a family. I wish there was something I could do about that.
