Chapter 7: Blown Cover

(Malia) 

"Get off me! Get off me! Don't touch me there! No! Nooooo!!!!" 

My head shot up from my book when I heard Jahlil panicking. His body convulsed and he moved his arms as if he was fighting someone off. 

"Don't touch me don't touch me don't touch me!!!!" 

"JAHLIL! WAKE UP!" 

I got on my bed and pinned his hands down before shaking his shoulders. 

"JAHLIL YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DREAM! WAKE UP. JAHLIL! JAHLIL!" 

His eyes shot open and he sat up taking deep gulps of air. I watched as tears traveled down his face. 

"Hey! I'm here. You were having a bad dream. That's all it was. You're in my bed, in my house, safe. It was just a dream." 

As his breathing calmed down his tears picked up. He collapsed into my arms hysterically crying. I have no idea what the hell that dream was, but he is so shaken up. 

"Shhhhh. Everything is alright. You're with me in my room. No one will get you right now. Everything's alright."

(Jahlil) 

I tried to slide out of bed, but Malia wrapped her arms around me and pulled me close to her. 

"You scared me Jay." Her eyes opened. "What did you dream about?" 

What did I dream about? More like who. I dreamt about Reggie harassing me again. I wish I would have never mentioned that to my grandma. Now that impure sickening scene keeps playing over and over in my head. 

"I just had some bad dream because I ate and went to bed. Shouldn't have done that." 

"Are you telling me the truth?" 

"Fine, the dream was about someone from my past." 

"Did they.... Hurt you?" 

I groaned then shut my eyes. 

"Please don't make me talk about it right now." 

"Okay Jahlil."

(Malia) 

"Good morning Jahlil." 

He sat up while running his fingers through his curls. 

"Hey." He yawned. I picked out some of his clothes from my dresser. 

"Here." 

He stood up and wrapped his arms around me.

"You're made because I wouldn't tell you about my dream last night, aren't you?" 

"Yeah, Only a lot!" 

He sighed then kissed my head. 

"Don't even worry. It doesn't even matter because it can never happen again."

(Author's note: Really short chapter. I was thinking about making Jahlil and Malia a couple, but that would be too predictable, right?)
