Part 5

"Seasons may change. Winter to spring. I will love you, till the end of time."  Moulin Rouge, Come What May.

The next morning Kailani woke up with a jolt making her wake Finnick. He pulled her closer and started asking questions.

" Are you ok love? Why were you screaming about the quarter quell?"

" Im fine. This one is going to be bad Finnick thats all I know. We need to be prepared." She said fearfully, looking into his eyes.

" Of course we will. Dont worry sweetheart, everything will be ok. Now lets go eat breakfast. You made us wake up late." He said jokingly as he threw her over his shoulder, making her laugh. Have I mentioned its his favorite sound in the world? After eating they went down to Annie's house to see how she was and made her a little breakfast. Annie was a little out of it today but made sure to eat and say thank you and goodbye when they left. Kailani made Finnick speak in Greek the entire time they were on the beach but he didn't mind. Until she started quizzing him while talking extremely fast. Extremely fast.

"What's my favorite color?"

"Green because you said you love my eyes! Ha!"

"How long have we been together?"

"Uh...." He started counting on his fingers. "7 years.... technically."

"Hm."

After a few more questions Kailani applauded her soulmate. She declared he was now fluent in her language and they celebrated by racing down to Mags house. Sadly it was a tie but Finnick vowed to win next time.

After they started cooking at Mags house, Finnick seemed to be in a daze and very clumsy the rest of the day.

"Hey. Do you feel sick? Do you want me to make some herb tea?" The blue eyed girl asked concerned as she touched his head to check for a fever.

They were going to celebrate the supermoon with Kai and she didnt let them forget about having a beautiful feast before going out to the beach.

" Oh me? Im fine. Just a little thrown off I guess." He chuckled nervously  and brought her hand down to his lips to kiss it. But after, he tried to lean of the counter to look cool. Key word: Tried.

He spilled two glasses of water and quickly made a mess. The two women couldnt help but laugh. Mags shook her head and helped him clean the counter as he apologized numerous times to her. Kailani went back to preparing food while Mags tried to talk some sense into Finnick. He was nervous but Mags made the come back to suck it up and be a man.

After they cooked all the food, Finnick went to go get Annie while Mags and Kai set out all the necessities. They ate and talked for hours before they went outside to enjoy the sunset and supermoon. After the little mermaid was done praying she jumped up and started dancing with Finnick while singing a soft tune. She had the voice of an angel and Finn loved it when she sang to him. Mags clapped them a beat and Annie joined in but after awhile she just stared into the makeshift fire they had made to keep them warm.

Kailani finished her quiet song and twirled away from him, looking up at the humongous moon and giggling like she was the happiest person in the world. And she was. She couldnt think of anything better. She was on the beach with the people she loved while the moon shined above them. How could it get any better than this?

But she spoke too soon.

When she came down from her high, she turned around to see Finnick on one knee, looking at her with such love.

" Kailani Lapis. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I can never see my life without you. You have taught me a beautiful language and influenced me in so many ways. And of course, you made me fall in love with you numerous times. The red head, blue eyed, beautiful mermaid waiting by the sea. Hell am I glad I was the one to sit next to you and love you all these years. Kailani, would you do me the honor of marrying me?"

Without a second thought she said yes and kissed him. He slipped on this beautiful gold and opal ring onto her wedding finger and let her admire it before he picked her up and spun her around. Mags clapped for them and Annie wooed as loud as she could. The lovely couple kissed once more before he placed her on her feet.

Since it was late Finnick helped Annie back into her house while Kai walked the beloved Mags home. They met at Finnick's new fiancés house after and sat on the couch.

" Its beautiful Finn."

" It was my mothers. She loved opal and my dad made sure to put green in it to remind her of his eyes while he was away on fishing trips. So I guess it'll resemble me for you too. Except ill always be here." Finnick explained.

" Very romantic. You're right, it will remind me of your beautiful eyes." She kissed him quickly before changing the subject." But how are we going to get married?"

" We would do it in private. Just the four of us probably and maybe a person we can trust to unite us. We could do it here or on the beach. Anywhere you want my love."

" Wow, you're right again." She teased,"I love you so much."

" I love you too. Now after the quarter quell is over we wont need to worry about anything and then we can get married."

The quarter quell was coming up fast. Maybe a week away. The sooner they could get married, the better. At least, thats the way Kailani thought. All finnick wanted was to marry this magnificent girl. He didnt care when.

They kissed some more before heading to bed, smiles never leaving their faces. The whole night was filled with love until they cuddled together and closed their eyes. Nothing could bring them down.
