Chapter 3

“Nope,” Xander replied.  Xander is one of the guys, but to be specific, he’s Dexter’s older brother.  Although they have the same jet black hair like his brother, his eyes were a hazel gray color.  The two were nothing alike.  While Dexter is so out in the open, Xander is a little more mysterious.  He has this dark aura around him that makes him dangerous, yet approachable.  He’s not like Dex, talking about the time about everything, but he does talk.  He’s always making wise comments and he’s always trying to pry his brother off of me.

I nodded.  Dex asked the new guy to pass over the food and set it in front of me.  A burger, large fries, a bottle of sprite, chocolate dipped strawberries, and an ice cream cone.  “Got here just in time.  I thought I was gonna have to finish the ice cream for you,” Dex said.

“Aww, Dex talking like a normal child,” I cooed.  “I never thought I’d see this day,” I continued teasing him.

He scowled as the rest of the crowd laughed, including the new kid.  I took my ice cream from Dex and walked over to the new kid.  “Name’s Annalisa, but they all call me Killer,” I introduced myself, holding my empty hand out.

The kid looked at me with disbelief, before quickly grasping my hand and introduced himself.  “Jared, Jared Linden.  You’re Killer?”

“Is it that surprising?” I asked as I licked my ice cream.

The guys were chortling.  “He’s been dying to meet you, but I guess we forgot to mention to him that you’re a girl because otherwise, he’d be all over you before you even got to sit down,” James replied, causing Jared to blush.

“Aww,” I cooed, “he’s blushing.”  I just couldn’t help myself.  “No wonder he was so confused when you told him to hand over the food,” I said to Dex.

“Well apparently, he got the wrong idea.  When I was ordering your food, he looked at me as if I was crazy when I ordered the strawberries,” Dex replied.

There was a wolf whistle from the field.  “Looking good, Killer!” Dimitri yelled.

“Not too bad yourself.  Now get your ass out there and show me what you got instead of staring at me like an idiot!” I teased.

“What could I say?  You’re too distracting!” he shouted back.

“Well, took you long enough to notice that I’m here,” I hollered back.  He started his engine and began moving.  “I know I’m sexy, but focus on the road next time,” I called, loud enough for him to hear me.  It caused Dimitri to look back and crash into the wall.  A ripple of laughter erupted from the crowd and people started cheering me.

Dimitri was now on his foot and running back toward us.  He walked up the bleachers and tried to give me a hug, but I quickly moved out of his way.  “Aye, baby, what’s with you?  I’m just trying to show you some love,” he taunted.

“Uh… it’s not exactly called showing some love when you’re going to dirty my clothes.”

“Well, you’ll just have to deal with it then, my love.  Come to papa,” he said in a seductive voice.

“Dimitri, take one more step and I will have Xander kick your ass,” I warned.

Dimitri started coming at me again, making me trip over someone’s feet.  I started falling backward before strong arms caught me around my waist and pulled me safely against someone.  When I looked up, I was staring into bright blue eyes, making my heart skip a beat.  I quickly pulled away, realizing that I had just fallen into Jared’s arms.  “Xander,” I said.  He quickly got up and blocked Dimitri’s path.
