  Eli's P.O.V.

When I woke up the pain had abated but my entire body was sore. Checking my phone I notice a whole mess of texts from Aria. I was suppose to take the closing shift when I ditched out on her. With a groan, I pulled myself off of the floor. The clothes I was wearing were ruined, avoiding metal I dug fresh clothes out of my dresser. Looking at the time I spared myself five minutes to shower standing under the water in constant fear of my powers sparking.

"Eliana Duncan, where the frick frack have you been?" Aria yelled from the other end of the call.

"I'm sorry." I whispered my throat dry making the words come out in a hoarse plea.

"Damn, you sound awful. What even happened? Did mister tall, dark and sexy drug you or something?" She asked her voice changing from anger to worry on a dime.

"I...I just got really sick, Aria, I'm so sorry I ditched you." I apologized. "And I'm late already and I swear I'll get there as soon as possible."

"Maybe you shouldn't come in..." She suggested lightly.

"No, I already fell bad enough. I'm leaving in a few minutes, I'll catch a cab and be there soon." I answered with a sigh.

"Alright..."

Hanging up, I tugged my hair into a pony tail while glaring at myself in the mirror. My hand shook as I reached forward touching the metal frame of the mirror. Nothing. Good. Pulling on my hoodie I stepped out onto the street and hopped in a cab.

Aria didn't say anything more about my sudden disappearance yesterday when I sat down with her. I insisted upon taking a double shift and Aria warily agreed going out for lunch. We traded shifts and continued working through the rest of the day after that.

"Do you want to go and do some shopping before we close up?" she asked. "Oh come on. It's the last day, you know you want to." She smirked teasing. "Go." I laughed as she ushered me away from our stand smirking.

"Are you sure?" I asked grinning.

"GO!" She yelled pointing a finger at me accusingly. "I cast you out!" Still laughing I shook my head but thanked her one more time before leaving.

I took my time taking all the sights in a leisurely pace strolling around and examining the different booths. There were a bunch of wickedly dressed cosplayers. My favorite by far probably had to be the female Captain America. Pausing at stand that had a vintage comics displayed I gawked at the first edition Batman Volume 1. Then nearly fainted at the price tag.

"Well, I guess you really are a nerd after all." A southern sounding accent drawled. I tensed turning around to face the speaker. Looking up, I forgot how tall he was compared to me, I shifted weight crossing my arms over my chest.

"Geek, actually." I corrected. "You know, you never told me your name." I accused him.

"Neither did you."

"I asked first." I said hating the way I sounded like a whiny kid.

"I asked yesterday." He chuckled. "But I be more den willing to take de first step. Remy Lebeau, at your service."

"Eliana." I introduced. "My friends call me Eli."

"No last name?" He asked his eyebrow going up in question.

"Why would I tell you my last name?" I asked, this time it was my turn to be amused. "You could be some creep that wants to Facebook stalk me."
