I imagine Jake Sutherland as Anton Yelchin, pictured above.

I finished spotting my face with concealer and grabbed a makeup brush, blending it in. I took out my eye shadow pallet and did my normal dark colors, grabbing my eye liner once I was finished. Once there was a black line on each eye lid, I took out mascara and swiped it across my eye lashes, curling them after. I checked my phone and sighed, seeing no new texts or calls. I plugged up my curling iron and brushed through my hair that had been up in a bun all day.

"Is Jake on his way?" Louise popped her head into the bathroom and I shrugged, taking the millionth glance at my phone.

"I've called him and he won't reply to any of my texts." I sighed, curling a piece of my hair. "I mean, he wouldn't really miss this, would he?" I wondered, setting my curling wand down and Louise sadly smiled.

"You can always hang with my dad and I." She offered and I shook my head, leaning against the bathroom counter.

"No, I'll be fine." I reassured. "He'll be here."

Louise left the bathroom and I continued curling my hair, shaking it out while spraying hair spray to keep it in place. I turned it off and left the bathroom, going to my bedroom across the hall. I shut the door and opened my closet, grabbing the black dress off of it's hanger. I changed out of my leggings and tank top, slipping the dress over my head. I straightened it out and put on my heeled boots, going to the kitchen. I pulled my phone out and dialed Jake's number again.

"Jake, this thing starts in half an hour and now I'm kind of getting pissed because you said you would be here an hour ago. If you weren't gonna come, you could have told me before tonight. Whatever, just call me later." I hung up the voicemail and groaned, sitting down at the counter.

"Is he coming?" Louise asked and I shrugged. "C'mon. Just come with my dad and me and we'll have a great time."

"I'll just wait here in case he shows up. His phone might be dead or something." I trailed off and she frowned. "Louise, go have fun and I'll meet up with you guys later."

"Ari," Louise sighed.

"Go." I lightly laughed. "I'll be fine."

Louise reluctantly left the apartment after a few minutes and I sighed to myself, looking down at my phone. Nothing. I went to the freezer and opened it, pulling out a tub of ice cream. I grabbed a spoon and didn't bother putting it in a bowl. I kicked my heels off and sat on the couch, turning on some random show. I heard my phone ring after a while and I looked to see that it was already nine o'clock. I went to the kitchen and rolled my eyes, seeing that Jake was calling.

"What?" I answered, not even giving him room for a hello.

"Dude, I'm so sorry." He started and I sighed, tugging at my hair.

"I really don't want to hear it." I muttered and he sighed.

"Ari, I seriously can't apologize enough. I got caught up at work and they wouldn't let me leave." He said and hiccuped, making me cock an eyebrow. "I'm sorry." His words were a bit slurred and I furrowed an eyebrow.

"Are you drunk?" I asked, pinching the bridge of my nose. "God, you are so unbelievable."

"I'm not drunk. I just had a couple beers with the guys at work." He said and I wanted to scream out of frustration.

"You really don't get why I'm upset, do you?" I sarcastically laughed.

"No, I mean, it was just a dance. You aren't in high school anymore, it shouldn't matter." Jake replied.
