"Two rum and cokes." I nodded and prepared the drinks, sliding the glasses across the bar to the people.

The old men paid me and gave me a generous tip, making me smile. I shoved the bills in my apron pocket and continued preparing drinks for people down the bar, only stopping when I checked the clock. Thank the lord that it was eleven fifteen and I got off at eleven. I ran a hand through my hair and told Alex goodbye before walking to the break room. I took off my apron and shoved my tips in my bag, putting the apron and name tag in the pile with everyone else's.

I put my bag over my shoulder and walked out the back door, heading to my car. I climbed in the drivers side and put my stuff in the passenger seat, pulling out of the parking lot. I reached over and dug around in my purse as my phone rang and pulled it out at a stop light, smiling at the sight of my mom's picture. I quickly answered it and smiled when she started talking.

"Hi, honey. How are you doing?" She asked and I pulled through the light.

"Good, just got off of work." I answered and she laughed.

"Which job?" She snorted and I rolled my eyes.

"Louise says the exact same thing." I said. "What are you doing?"

"We just got phone service so I figured I would call my favorite daughter and see how she's doing. Tell me everything that's been going on." Mom demanded and I laughed.

"I started a job at The London Magazine about two months ago. That's about it." I shrugged to myself and pulled into the apartment parking lot.

"How is it?"

"Really good. Everyone there is really nice." I smirked a little, thinking about Niall and Mom hummed.

"Any men in your life?" She wondered and I laughed at how blunt she was. "What? I need to know this stuff."

"There might be one." I got out of my car and made my way towards the stairs to go upstairs.

"Ooh, what's his name? What's he like?"

"His name is Niall and he's really nice." I simply said and Mom groaned. "What?" I laughed and put my key in the door to go inside.

"There must be more than 'he's really nice.'" She laughed and I did too, going inside. "What's he look like? What does he do?"

"He has blonde hair and blue eyes and he is the executive editor at the magazine I work at. He tells awful jokes and laughs at about anything." I said and I could tell Mom was smiling.

"Sounds like a keeper." She joked and I laughed, setting my bag down on the counter. "Alright, well, I better let you go. It's late where you are."

"Okay, I'm glad you called." I said and walked back to my room. "I'll talk to you later."

"Love you, Ari."

I told Mom goodbye and walked back to my room, turning the light on. I rubbed my eye and opened my laptop on my desk, getting out my journalism textbook. I opened a new Word document and started writing the essay that was due tomorrow. I only take three classes right now and they are all online so I don't have to go into an actual classroom, only to take the finals. I put my hair up into a ponytail and went to the bathroom, taking my contacts out. I put on my glasses and went back, continuing to write my paper.

"Hey, babe." I jumped a little as a kiss was placed to my cheek and I turned my head to see Niall walking into my bedroom, dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie. "Louise let me in."

"Hey." I mumbled and turned back to my computer, typing a sentence.

"Whatcha doin?" He wondered, sitting on the edge of my bed.
