"Hey, babe." Niall smiled at me through the Face time and I smiled back, sitting down on the couch.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked, pulling my knees to my chest.

"Sitting in my room. Missing you." He sang and I laughed a little, putting my head in my hand, resting my elbow on the arm of of the couch. "Just two more weeks."

A couple of months ago, Niall got a promotion at work. We were both ecstatic until we found out that he had to go do training in New York for a month and a half. He almost didn't go because of me and Lucas, but I forced him to, knowing how great of an opportunity it was. It has sucked that he's been gone so long, but that would make seeing him in two weeks that much better. Sure, he's gone on business trips but they were usually just a day or two. Never this long.

"Where's Lucas?" Niall asked.

"I just put him to bed. It's late over here." I said, running a hand through my hair. "How's training?"

"Good, I'm just ready for it to be over." He sighed and I nodded, looking up as the clock stroke midnight. "You working tomorrow?"

"Yepp. I'm meeting Louise at the park afterwards with Lucas." I replied, thinking about my plans tomorrow.

"You're such a mom." Niall joked and I laughed, poking my tongue out at him. "Alright, I guess I'll let you go. I have to be at a dinner in half an hour."

"Boo, you." I jokingly pouted and Niall laughed, lying back on his bed. "I'll talk to you later."

"I love you." Niall said, making me smile.

"Love you, too."

I hung up the Face time and sighed to myself. I missed him. I got up from the couch and turned the lights off, heading down the hall to our bedroom. I went to the bathroom and turned the shower on, stripping my clothes off. I turned the volume up on the baby monitor and climbed in the shower, running my fingers through my hair while getting it wet. I shampooed and conditioned my short hair and decided against shaving my legs. Nobody to impress for a couple of weeks.

I got out and put my hair in a towel, wrapping another one around my upper body. I wiped fog from the mirror and huffed, cocking my head to the side. Usually after I get out of the shower, Niall would come in and try and take my towel off before attacking my neck with kisses. I smiled a little at the thought and walked back into the bedroom, getting one of his t-shirts and a pair of underwear. I climbed into bed and sighed to myself. It's too cold in here alone.

"Hello?" I answered my phone, seeing Harry's number.

"Ari, something happened." He said and I cocked an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's Niall." He said and my face fell. "There was a shooting at the magazine. They don't know what's happening."

I hung up with Harry, running out to my car, getting in. I sped down the streets, my heart practically thumping in my ears as I drove towards the magazine. The closer I got, I saw red and blue lights and a bunch of police officers. I parked and got out, running towards the Caution line, pushing through people.

"Ma'am you need to calm down." A police told me as I stood on my tip toes, tears filling my eyes.

"My husband is in there. What's going on?" I demanded and he sighed.

"There's an armed man in there and he's holding hostages. I will let you know when anything happens."

I nodded and thanked him, my leg shaking in it's place. I watched the door, waiting for anything to happen. All of the sudden, they grabbed multiple gurneys and rushed inside, gunman standing at the door, their weapons aimed at the glass. After a few tense minutes, the medics ran out with three gurneys with people on top of them. I noticed familiar dyed blonde hair and I ducked under the caution tape.
