"You can do this, Ari. You got this." I mumbled to myself as I curled my hair, looking in the mirror.
I continued to curl my hair and shook it out after spraying it with hairspray. I took out my makeup bag and started doing my normal routine, trying to look as decent as I could. I finished with the eyeliner and put on mascara before walking to my room. I took off my pajamas and started getting dressed. I had picked out what I was gonna wear last night so I wasn't stressing this morning.
I pulled on the black leggings and adjusted the waistband on my hips, tugging them up. I put on a nude colored bra and slid a tan, loose long sleeve shirt over my head and straightened it out. I clipped on the necklace that I wore everyday and sat on the edge of my bed to put my shoes on. I stepped into the ankle boots and tied the laces before standing up and grabbing my purse and camera.
"Louise! I'm leaving." I called out and she came out of her room, to the kitchen.
"Have fun on your first day. Call me if you need anything. Don't forget your bag and your camera and phone." She said and I laughed, heading to the door.
"Okay, mom." I joked and Louise laughed, telling me goodbye.
I left the apartment and went down to my car, setting my stuff in the passenger seat. I began making my way downtown to the magazine building. I eventually found it and found a parking spot behind the building. I noticed that Niall's Range Rover was already here. I got out of my car and took a few deep breaths before going inside. The woman at the front desk gave me a floor number and I headed over to the elevator, getting in. I twisted my hands around the strap of my bag and shook my leg in place as I got closer to where I was going.
The elevator dinged and I slowly got out, walking down the white hallway to the door that had the magazine logo above it. I pushed through the door and went to the reception desk, telling the man who I was. He smiled and got up, telling me to follow him. I followed him and he stopped at a cubicle that looked super blank. It just had a computer and rolling chair. I thanked the receptionist and sat my bag down.
"Are you Ari Sutherland?" Someone said, making me look up. I nodded and he smiled, holding his hand out for me to shake. "I'm Anthony and we spoke on the phone."
"Hi, nice to meet you." I smiled and shook his hand.
Anthony waved me over and I walked with him around the office, him telling me where everything was and who to talk to if I needed anything. We passed an office and I looked at the tag, noticing Niall's name on it. My eyes widened at his title. He's the executive editor. He never told me that. I shook the thought from my head and continued to listen to Anthony as he showed me his office. I feel like I would really like Anthony. Anthony was probably in his late twenties based on how he looked and dressed. He was really tall and had dark hair that was gelled a certain way and dark eyes. On the phone he seemed really nice and he was in person too. He was the director of graphics so he would be the one overseeing my work for every shoot that I do.
"Alright, there's no new shoots today but I have some files that I need you to look through to find the best pictures in it. Just delete the blurry ones and bad ones that aren't good." Anthony handed me a flash drive and I nodded.
"Got it." I nodded and he smiled.
Anthony bid me goodbye and I went back to my cubicle, sitting down in the rolling chair. I took a breath and turned the computer on, scooting up towards the desk. I put the drive in the side of the monitor and opened up the data. There were fifty folders. I ran a hand through my hair and started looking through the pictures, deleting some stuff and picking good ones. I was so lost in the pictures that I didn't even realize what time it was until someone was leaning over my cubicle.
