~BREWYN'S POV~

This girl walks fast. I've been driving along this same path for ages and I cant find her. Just her scent roaming around. She should know anyone could easily track her.

There was a small twig break sound no too far away. I found her.

"Jaime. Get in the car." I sighed out while driving slowly beside her. If I wanted her to keep her trap shut, I was gonna have to lie some more.

"Everyone will know. Your going to lose your honored tittle." she said looking straight ahead. She paused and craned her seemingly fragile neck at me. "You'll be ruined. Both you and your mate. Ruined. " Jaime repeated before marching on.

There goes that word again. Mate.

"It wasn't my option. Trevor's a dangerous person. You can not believe the type of things he's done. Jaime." I told her, it wasn't a lie. He's done things that should have been punished, but it's his high tittle of Alpha that keeps his slate clean. "Jaime look at me! I'd protect you to the death!" I lied once more to her face. I didn't need to see her eyes to know she was angry. After all, she was his daughter. The man who defied laws.

"Sure sure. You can take your lies and shove them right up your backstabbing arse!" she yelled furiously. Her eyes, yellow. Perfect. I just needed to keep this up and it wouldn't be too long before she activates her power.

"Jaime, please. It wasn't my option." I pleaded. I knew I had I to do the one thing that would get her on my side.

"He killed Arielle."

She stopped dead in her tracks. "Why should I believe you?"

"Because, he kicked me out. He left me without a pack when I needed one most. Why would I willingly work for a monster like that? He left me out to die. He killed the one person meant for me, who brought me happiness."

She didn't look at me. She didn't move a muscle either. She simply stared ahead, as if making a widely important decision in her mind.

"He killed Arielle?" she asked.

"Yes. I'm sorry, but he'll kill me too. I had to do what I did, but I realized now. Protecting you in my main priority. Even if I'm protecting you with my life." I paused for a moment. Arielle was a truly spectacular woman, and it was true that she was dead. But Trevor, was not the one who had killed her.

Jaime finally looked at me. It was clearly visible that she was no longer angry. Her eyes were murky and cloudy instead. "I know what it feels like to lose someone like that." she whimpered out. "I'm sorry."

"It's alright." I said scratching the back of my neck. I was actually feeling guilty for the enemy. The weak enemy whom I must befriend. "Let's get you back home, where you can rest. It's been a long day." I said. The sun was just barely setting now, but I'd say and do anything to get off the subject. I loved Arielle dearly and she was always there for me. Though, that does not mean I regret anything.

~JAIME'S POV~

I walked back into the house. Not really feeling any emotions. I was confused.

Brewyn was always an enemy, but he was good? He said he would protect me, I don't know why I trust him again, but I do. I'll keep his secret pack a secret from John. Just like I did when Brewyn disappeared.

I unconsciously wobbled up to my room and shut the door. I hadn't blinked in a minute, it's like I'm traumatized.

"Psst." I heard somewhere in my room. But as to where it came from exactly was an entirely different topic. It's like it came from every direction. "Open the window."
