How long, How far...

Chapter 6

I stop in-front of the spare rooms door. "So what now?" Kayla asks. Erin and I look at each other then at Kayla and Luke with a smirk on our faces. "We are going to..." I look at Erin waiting for her to finish my sentence, "Watch a movie!" Luke squeals like a little girl as we walk into the spare bedroom. "Woah, this room is huge." Kayla walks in the middle of the room and spins, falling onto the couch.

The room is painted white and has a few black outlines of roses on each wall, with a huge flat screen TV pressed up against it with a small coffee table beneath it, holding the DVD player and X-Box.

The bed is pressed up against the opposite side, facing the TV with a black two seated couch at the foot of the bed. There's a table in the corner of the room with a microwave and coffee machine on, as well as a mini fridge on the floor next to it.

On the opposite side of the room is a normal working desk with the normal computer set up on it and the tower under, and a smallish book shelf to the right of the desk, filled with books and a window above it.

I wheel myself towards the coffee table and open a draw filled with DVDs. "So what do you guys wanna watch?" Kayla appears by my side, checking out the selection.

"SINISTER TWO!!" Erin shouts as she kicks off her shoes and jumps onto the bed, getting comfortable. "Sinister two it is then." I take it out of its cover and put it in the player.

"Seriously? At 6AM?" Kayla whines. "Hey, at least you'll get scared, if you know what I mean." Luke sits next to Kayla on the couch and nudges her.

"Guys, if you're gonna make out or anything, you must LEAVE the room so that we can actually watch the movie." Erin says. I glare at the couple, "That's actually a rule in this room." They both sigh and kick their shoes off, Kayla folding her legs beneath her.

I go over to the bed and quickly stand up and fall onto the bed. "Erin, sorry but can you please close the curtains and turn the lights off?" She doesn't say anything and does what I asked but grabbing 4 cans of coke out of the fridge on her way back, handing one to each of us.

It's half way through the movie and Kayla has already fallen asleep on Lukes lap.

Erin decided that the movie is getting boring and is now playing LOL on the PC, with her headphones on. So now Luke and I are the only ones watching the movie, but I'm not really paying attention so I decide to message Shane.

R : Hey xx

S : Hey :) x

R : Long time no talk hey.

S : Not really, it's been like two days, are you okay?

R : I suppose, just got back from the hospital, I'm okay, so don't worry.

S : Why were you in the hospital!?? You're making me worried right now.

So instead of watching the movie I explained to Shane what happened, he kind of freaked out but got over it soon enough. For the rest of the movie I messaged him, discussing life and weird things, you know the normal teenage stuff.

I've never met him, but we're planning to meet soon, we 'met' online, while gaming and exchanged numbers, luckily he only lives a few hours away but we both don't have the time of day to meet up. We've been talking for about 8 months now I think, he has fallen madly in love with me and I him.

But he isn't here and I hate long distance relationships - from past experience. I've known Ryan much longer, we dated before but it didn't work and now he wants me back, ugh, love is messed up. Especially if you don't want to hurt the others. So now I'm stuck in a love triangle.

Once the movie ended, Luke moved Kayla off of his lap and onto the arm of the couch and got up, stretching his legs. "Where's the bathroom?" I didn't hear him at first, concentrating more on my phone. "Rose?" I looked up at him with a confused look on my face. "Bathroom?"
"Oh, down the hall, first door to your left." I locked my phone and stretched. As Luke left the room, Erin got off the PC and walked over to the bed.

"What's the time?" She stretches and yawns. I look at my phone, "It's only like 9AM." Erin sighs, "Movie day?" I check my phone to see if I have any messages or if I need to do anything for the day. "Definitely a movie day."

She goes to the DVD rack and chooses another movie. Luke suddenly runs in with a shocked look on his face, trying to catch his breath. "I couldn't-" He stops taking a deep breath. "I couldn't find the bathroom, but when I did, there was some dude sleeping in the bath!" I roll my eyes and get onto my wheelchair. "That's just Dylan, he's Sarah's boyfriend, he smokes weed there and usually falls asleep." I wheel myself to the bathroom

I open the door and am greeted by the scent of weed. I hit the tub with my foot, "Oi! Dylan, please get out of the bath and go home." He grunts and rubs his eyes. "Where am I?" He gets up, looking around and the realizing what just happened. I sigh and wait for him to leave. He gets out the bath and leaves the bathroom, going upstairs to Sarah's room.

After a long day of watching movies with friends, they go home and I'm left all alone once again. I stay up all night writing poetry in my poetry book. Erin sends me a message asking if she and Kayla can come over again tomorrow, I simply ignore her and put my music on, writing another poem.

I log onto my laptop and decide to go onto Facebook, scrolling through posts. Suddenly a message pops up on my phone from an unknown number, "Be careful with what you talk about to your friends, they aren't the only ones listening." A bit freaked out, I reply, "Who is this?" The unknown person reads but doesn't reply, I decided to let it not get to me and create a group chat with Erin, Kayla and Luke. "So do you guys wanna come over next week Friday ? I'm a bit busy this week/weekend." I lock my phone, lay on my bed and wait for a reply.

I look at my clock next to my bed, it reads 23:48. I yawn and just rest my eyes for a bit, then I feel a buzz on the bed, assuming it's my phone I leave it and slowly drift to sleep.
