Firstly, I would like to dedicate this chapter to @piper7mclean because this person was my 100th voter on this story!! If you're reading this, piper7mclean, just know that I will never forget you :D
Life for Percy had been especially hard. Apparently, he wasn't like the other kids who surrounded him for the past few weeks. He was a Greek, not a Roman, and the Roman who was at a Greek camp is here to change places.
Percy was excited to finally see Annabeth again. He had regained all of his lost memories back and he remembered everything from his eighth birthday to his most recent meal. Joy struck his heart as he recalled the time when Annabeth had sent him an iris message, finally being able to reach him, and he saw her face. He couldn't remember another time when he had felt so loved and happy, the smile on her beautiful face was wider than he could remember.
There were other people there, too, because they had to talk business. There was another war coming on, he knew that much, and Percy hated it. He never liked fighting, let alone wars. Didn't the gods think he'd had enough with this, fighting for his life and others since he was twelve years old.
He met the infamous Jason, who was apparently a son of Jupiter a.k.a. Zeus if you're a Greek. He seemed very standoffish and he didn't say much, but when he did speak, he made sure to sound authoritative and very... alpha-ish, and that's the thing that Percy didn't like about Romans. With his bleach blond hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin, you'd think he'd be somewhere in Malibu hanging tens and chilling with his bros, but obviously that's not the case at all.
There was also a Latino boy who went by Leo and he only seemed like he was a couple years younger than Percy, his elfish features always cheerful and silly, and it annoyed Percy slightly, but made his sad at the same time. Percy never had time to be silly anymore. He was quite skilled with a hammer, no doubt that he's a son of Hephaestus, especially with that ability to build a whole flying battle ship in a matter of weeks. Percy couldn't comprehend how awesome that was. Whenever Percy tries to build something, it turns up in a endless blob of useless stuff.
Then there was one last person, a girl though, and she stood out the most to Percy. She never mentioned her name much to Percy's disappointment. She mainly stood in the background, only jumping in here and there to add points in a story to catch him, Hazel, Frank, and Reyna up on what had happened in Camp Half-Blood. No, she didn't seem the least bit cowardly because of the way she stood strong and held herself. When she spoke, her words were strong, yet beautiful as they flowed from her tongue and Percy, who is ashamed of this, couldn't keep his eyes away from her.
She was beautiful, way more beautiful than anyone he had seen before, even though she didn't try. He could tell by the way she wore her faded, baggy blue jeans and her orange camp shirt that had loose threads hanging off in random places. She was a tall girl, built as if she were a model with her long physique and wide hips. Her smile had a familiar hue to it and it almost compelled him to smile, too, but he restrained himself as best as he could.
She never mentioned her name and although Percy didn't want to admit it, he could feel his mouth water. She was just as beautiful as Aphrodite herself. But of course, it was just a slight crush, or maybe just wonder struck. It was Annabeth he truly loved.
Now, he was standing amongst the frantic Romans who were screaming their heads off in panic as the flying ship made its way down towards the ground. Percy was yelling and flying over them along with Reyna on her griffin as he was trying to calm the demigods down.
"Guys! Calm down, they are not the enemy!" Percy cuffed his hands over his mouth and yelled down and luckily, he grabbed their attention.
He heard probably a thousand sighs of relief as they all stopped what they were doing and watched the ship land, still holding themselves in a battle position just in case they tried to pull something.
The griffin found its way off to the ground and Reyna, who had been sitting in front of him, swung herself off with amazing skill and stood patiently as the ship also landed. Percy, being his clumsy self, almost face-planted while trying to get off. He most definitely wasn't used to this yet.
He watched with pure joy as the balista's door slowly began to open. He couldn't wait to see Annabeth again, and he couldn't wait to meet his supposed rival, the son of Jupiter. A smile plastered itself on his face when the kids on the ship made their way out.
Heyooo!
Okay, the purpose of this short chapter was just to give you feelz. Did you get the feels when Percy started describing Piper? I hope you did ;)
But yeah. I'm so sorry it's short. It's supposed to be suspenseful. You guys wouldn't leave me, would you? Maybe I should post more often....
Thank you guys for sticking with me for all this time. This is my first book and your comments that beg me for more chapters warm my heart significantly.
Peace, love, and rubber gloves, xoxo Dawn
