Chapter Eighteen

*Leo*

I stayed the entire weekend at the hospital as usual. Tests starting the next week and Bella missed all of them, i don't have to read that much.... am not trying to be proud but i'm smart, so don't blame me when i say the test was easy even though some people complained about calculus and thermodynamics. I kept Bella updated about what's going on in school, Irene visited Bella most times since we are reading partners together with Dave and Harry, poor Austin has to read alone, although i wouldn't pity him 'cos he's pretty much entertaining himself with wooing Irene.
..... Saturday...
"Hey" she said softly as i opened the door slightly and poked my head into her room smiling before walking over to her bed.
I gazed around the room, "where's everyone?"
"they went out" she shrugged lightly.
"hmm, so how are you doing?"
"well, from what i heard am third on the list or so, all this will be over soon" i noticed she hadn't looked at me since i walked in.
"hey, look at me" i said softly cupping her cheeks in my palms and felt it was wet, "were you crying?... talk to me, come on"
She started crying,
"i'm scared Leo, i don't wanna die, i hate being a burden to you guys, i hate all this" i held her hand feeling helpless,
"it's alright, you're not going to die, okay! you are going nowhere!" i hugged her tight as she cried on my chest and i stroked her hair.
It felt like my whole bones were going to melt off as she cried. I laid her gently on the bed and cleaned off her eyes.
"urgh! I must look horrible now with swollen face and snort, right?" she said covering her face with her palms. I pulled it off, "you'll always look pretty to me no matter what concept you pull" i said smiling and she smiled back bringing sunshine to my life with it again after a flood of tears.
"how was your tests?"
"who am i? the tests were piece of cheese"
"i hope you say that when the result comes out" she said with a smirk.
Both dads walked into the room looking radiant, "Good news honey! you are the at the top of the list now" Richard said.
Bella smiled weakly and sighed.
But being next doesn't mean it would be easy.

School gave a short break. I have to enjoy my time left right?
So we travelled to California for a little sight seeing.
"welcome young sires" the chaffeur said as we got out of the car and faced the hotel we would be lounging.
The whole week we went around parks, towers, concerts, restaurants. For the fun of it, i even auditioned for a supporting role in a movie after we met Irene and her sisters who came to visit their mom...also my mom, anyway, the movie called Castle Doom was the story of a proud, irresponsible prince who was to take over his father but was forced to become responsible by eliminating a curse in the castle.
After two weeks, we went back home. I dropped my things at home, showered and rushed to the hospital. I entered her room.... the place was empty.
Nothing has happened,
i chanted to myself.
"Excuse me, can i help you?"
It took me a while to notice the figure in front of me in white talking to me......
"where's the patient that was in this room?"
"you mean... Bella Russells"
"yes! Bella!"
"oh am sorry..." my heart dropped and dread filled me..
"stop! don't tell me" i said and walked out of the hospital feeling numb, no.. She can't be gone, she isn't! she can't be! I shook my head as i walked on to my car.
"Leo, when did you come back?" Richard called and i looked back to see his tired face and red eyes.
"where is Bella?" i asked tears quickly filling my eyes.
"i'm sorry, i didn't want to disturb you boys little break"
"what happened?" i said as calm as i could.
"she had another attack, so they transferred her to the ICU" je explained and i sighed.
She's alive! I'm not yet late...
"Can i go check up on her"
"they said we should not crowd her, so her moms are with her... go rest you can come tomorrow"
I nodded, drove home and updated the boyz, Harry's face ashen with worry... I think a part of him is feeling the pain of his twin.

"Leo, promise me you'll always remind my parents of how much i love them" Bella said in a very low voice, her lips pale and dry.
"They know and they love you too" i replied.
"I'm sorry, am causing you guys restless right?"
I sighed and and gently pressed her hand.
"I know you will make my family really happy"
"Are you trying to propose to me?" i smirked, trying to make her smile.
"Please can you hug me" she asked smiling and i pulled her up and hugged her.
"I love you" she whispered and her grip loosened. A cold shiver ran up my spine as i pushed her to look at her, her word floated in the air....... Her eyes was closed peacefully with a smile on her face........ She was gone.
"Bella! Bella!" i shouted until i fell off the bed and hit the cupboard right beside it... It was a dream.... A terrible dream!
I was soaked in sweat, gasping for air, Dave rushed into my room, followed by Harry and Austin.
"what happened?" Dave asked...... I think.. my brain wasn't coordinating, my eyes wild open with fear.
"he had a bad dream" Austin answered and came to pat my back.
"is it Bella?"
I nodded feeling like a child who can't speak. " want to say what happened?"
I sighed, "she left" i croaked
"Bella's not going anywhere, anytime soon, is that clear!"
I nodded as i curled myself on the bed and Austin covered me with my blanket.

Hi guys, am so so sorry am late, school went on a short break so they decided to be unfair to us who stayed behind, low wifi n next to zero power!! My home is in the same state as my school but i'm in 'want-to-enjoy-freedom-in-school mode', so i decided to stay in school. Anyways am sorry..
