"What did you have to tell me Zara?"

Well, here goes nothing.

Alexander's P. O. V.

News caused me to be anxious. I didn't like surprises because I wouldn't know prior to what events may occur.

Although I would be a hypocrite if I do say so myself. If she wanted to do surprises then I was up to the challenge.

I secretly knew mine would top her surprise off.

Or so I thought. Maybe I could be wrong? We'll just have to wait and see as our lives unfolded.

She says it is something so extraordinary, so wonderful, so exciting.

But just what could it be?

I could have guessed a few things. Maybe she has found clues to Ellie's whereabouts? Or perhaps she's gotten some ideas about tonight?

My mind was racing and racing and racing. What Zara said nearly passed me until I caught the end of her phrase.

"What?"

"Love, we're pregnant!" she was smiling from ear to ear and her face flushed with true bliss.

"We are?" I asked faintly. I too was beginning to smile like Zara was.

"We're pregnant?" I asked a little louder.

She nodded once again. The smile on her face almost looked like it could last for all of eternity.

"I'm gonna be a father... I'm gonna be a father!" I shouted hysterically. We both couldn't contain our excitement. I brought the small woman into my strong hold and just embraced her.

We rocked from side to side laughing in pure joy for the sake of the moment. I briefly pulled away to give her a warm, succulent and passionate kiss.

She pulls back and giggles as she mummers, "Don't squish them now."

Them? I'm having twins?!

I hugged my love dearly being overtaken and controlled by the amount of happiness that coursed through my veins.

"Zara I promise you that I will protect you with my life. I will protect you and my children. And yes I know, Ms. Legendary Warrior, you may think it is quite silly of me to say this. You know you are perfectly capable of protecting yourse-"

I was cut off by the soft pair of lips connecting with mine once more. She soon pulled away and looked into my eyes. Her brown eyes looked sincere and promising. Filled with such hope, happiness and ambition.

"You sound nothing close to foolishness Alexander. It is perfectly logical for you to want to make sure we are safe."

"Do you think you should stop fighting temporarily?" I asked cautiously.

Without hesitation she immediately answered, "No."

Of course. I should have known the answer to that question already!

I chuckled feeling unsure about my own question and her response to it.

"Zar honey, I don't want you putting yourself in risk or the babies lives in danger."

She looked at me as if she was completely certain of her decision. "I know what I am capable of Alexander. I understand your concerns but don't doubt my abilities. I know what I must do."

I gulped and ran my hand throughout my soft, curly, black hair as I stared her down.

She was serious. She's right. I don't doubt it for a second.
