I get off the Knight Bus with my school supplies, and go through the back door and sneak upstairs to my room.
I place my owl on my desk and chuck all my stuff near my trunk for me to pack later. I go down stairs to see Mum and get her yelling at me over with. I was one hundred percent sure Auntie Narcisa had told Mum I left without telling her.
When I get down stairs, I'm surprised to see Aunite Narcisa still talking to Mum. I stay behind the door, listening to what they are saying.
"I'm sorry Bella, but honestly, I've done you a favour leaving that girl behind."
"Oh don't say that Narcisa, you can't think she won't find a way back home. And it's my job to look after her so I have too." Mum says.
"Whatever you say Bella, you can't say you really-"
Aunite Narcisa is cut off, by the sound of something heavy hitting the floor on the top level in the house. My eyebrows knit together in a knot and I quickly run upstairs to see what it was.
"I should have known," I say as I quickly rush over to my owl, her cage is on its side as its fallen over from her trying to fly around in it. "Here," I say and open the cage so she can fly around in my room before landing on the top of her cage. "Is that better?" I ask her, stroking her head.
"Trista! What are you doing? How did you get you here?" My Mum says when she gets to my door. I turn around slowly, wishing I had just told her I was home when I got here.
"I took the Knight Bus, I came through the back door, I heard you were talking to Auntie Narcisa, so I came upstairs."
"What?! What did you hear her say?" She asks suspiciously.
"Oh I didn't hear anything, I could just hear voices," I lie.
"Oh, okay. Well, did you get everything you need for school?"
"Yep, sure did. I'll start packing now."
"Okay, good. Dinner will be ready soon."
"Okay, thanks Mum." Her face shows an emotion I've never really seen before. It was a cross between angry, yet sorry for me.
Anyway, that went much better than expected. I quickly pack all my new books, ink and quills, robes and other things I normally take to school, into my trunk. I debate taking the picture of Mum and I, smiling together on Christmas last year. It was the first and only picture we have ever had together. I pack it, along with my Quidditch poster and knitted 'T' jumper that was shoved at the bottom of my wardrobe.
I head downstairs for tea, which hasn't much more conversation than usual. I didn't mind though. I ate quietly before going upstairs for an early bedtime, excited that tomorrow I was finally going to be going back to Hogwarts.

I wake earlier than normal, and chuck on my clothes at super speed. I grab my wand, owl and trunk and head downstairs to eat a quick breakfast of bacon and eggs. Mum always made bacon and eggs on September 1st. It was the one nice thing she did for me.
"Thanks Mum!" I say as she places a full plate of bacon and eggs in front of me. Although she was in a bad mood most of he time, she was still my Mum and I loved her. I start to eat straight away and watch out the corner of my eye Mum reading the paper. She does the same thing as always, flick through, read an interesting article, then throw it on the fire.
I finish eating and grab my stuff and go to our car. I put my trunk in the boot and put Mimi in the back with me. Mum gets in the car and we head to Kings Cross station.
