"Please, Trista, just listen," Sirius pleads and starts pacing back and fourth in front of me. I couldn't not listen, I was paralysed. Forced to hear every word but not able to react.

"You see, I'm your Father and as a matter of fact, Bellatrix is not your Mother. That would be gross." He says and makes a disgusted face.
"Where your Mother is...I'm sorry Trista. You see, when you were born, she got very scared when she found out about things that were happening in the Wizarding world because your Mother - she's actually a Muggle. She didn't want to be a part of the Wizarding world...so she left. But she took you with her, determined to raise you like a Muggle. I'm guessing you don't know what your name means in Muggle terms Trista?" Sirius asks and I manage to shrug.

"It means sorrow. Your Mother loved you very much, but she was scared of the world she would be coming into if she stayed with me. You were a handful, that's for sure, and I think it was a mix between the pressure of trying to keep such a big secret from her friends, and from you. Trista, she got quite sick. Eventually she passed away, but not before making sure you were returned to me."

I sit in silence. How the hell could this all be true? "But how did I end up with Mot- I guess...Bellatrix?" I ask, each word a struggle.

Sirius kneels back down in front of me again.

"I looked after you in secret for a month, I only told your Godmother of your existence. That is, my cousin Andromeda Tonks. The only other family I had who wasn't bad.

But Trista, when I was framed for murder and sent to Azkaban, Andromeda thought I had betrayed her trust and refused to look after you. She instead gave you to Bellatrix who raised and brainwashed you."

I close my eyes to try and stop the tears from falling but I give up and let them slide down.

"My whole life's been a lie!" I scream and throw a pillow from the chair across the room. My arm prickles along the scarred words and I take a few deep breaths.

"I told you I'm a horrible person. But I couldn't let you believe that Bellatrix was your Mother anymore," Sirius says and I stand up. I was so confused with all the information that my brain started to shut down.

"I need to see Harry," I say and Sirius offers to get him. I nod and he leaves the room. I run over and lock the door, and start throwing as many things as I can, not caring about what they were. I scream at the top of my lungs, trying to let out my anger, sadness and physical pain that was sitting in my stomach like after you eat too much food. I collapse to the ground and curl up into a ball. When Sirius comes back he tries the door but because it's locked he says 'alohamora' and enters.

"Trista!" Sirius panics and comes over to cradle me. I push him away but he refuses to let go. "I'm sorry Trista, I'm so sorry," he says.

Harry stands awkwardly at the door, not understanding why he was asked to come see me. I close my eyes and cry into Sirius' shoulder.

Eventually, either I was able to compose myself enough, or I had no more tears left to cry, I stopped. I sat and counted every deep breath I took for a whole minute.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gotten angry," I say standing and walking to sit on the couch where Harry had gotten comfy. Hermione and Ron were helping Mrs Weasley in the kitchen.

"No, you had every right, I should have told you I'm your father sooner. I just can't be seen or they will throw me back I'm Azkaban."

Harry stands up lightning fast. "Wait..." he says looking from Sirius to myself. "You're his daughter?" Harry asks and we both nod. "That's why you were always asking about her. And that's why when you escaped...you told us to be kind to her, that she wasn't evil."

"You told them to become friends me? See, you were looking out for me. Because...Dad, becoming friends with Harry and Ron and Hermione, that was the best thing that had happened," I say and give Dad a hug.

"I know this is all very confusing, whenever you have any questions, you can ask," Dad says and I give him a hug.

"I can't believe I have a real Dad," I say as I hold him tight. "I better go tell Ron and Hermione," I say and he gives me a kiss on the top of my head and Harry and I leave to tell the news.

By the end of the day at dinner, everyone knew the big secret Dad had kept his whole life. Remus was shocked, Mrs Weasley even more so and Hermione, Ginny and Ron, they just couldn't believe it.

"Trista!" Hermione exclaims as we are served dinner, "that's why your patronus is a dog! Because that's Sirius' animagas, and he's your Dad, just like Harry!"

I smile as I think this through. So many things made sense now. "And Gryffindor! I'm a Gryffindor just like my Dad!" I yell excitedly and Dad laughs.

"You're too brave not to be a Gryffindor," Dad says and raises his goblet. "To a brighter future with family!" Dad says and everyone raises their goblets and bumps them together.
