I practically bite my tongue off in history. I mean, I should've seen this coming. I know that when Hayden stuck the gum on his chair she looked like she was being a jerk, but I know that she likes him. My girl senses tell me. But the worse part is, I think he likes her, too.
I exchange looks with Mason as they talk at locker breaks. I know he feels sorry. He shouldn't be, though. I should've seen this coming. It was hurling at me like a baseball. I didn't see it coming until it hit me hard. Now when I look at hi, I feel a pang in my stomach, and I feel hot and queasy.
No.
No, no , no.
This is going to end up like Isaac.
He fell in love with Allison.
No.
"Liam?" I ask, as we sit at the lunch table.
"Hmm?" He asks, holding my hand under the table. I look over at Hayden. She has a snarl on her face, lip twisted upward, disgusted look on her smug pretty face at Liam.
"Never mind." I say and lay my head on his shoulder, playing with my plastic fork. He smiles and sighs.

We sit on my roof and we are gazing at the bright stars illuminating the sky, making it a dark midnight blue. We just stare, we don't talk. It's not awkward, though. I finally talk, opening up a sore wound.
"you remind me of him, you know." I say. Liam looks at me, as I observe my white converse.
"Who?" He says, confused.
"Logan. He and I were best friends. We hung out all the time, we wrote music together. He-He made me these." I say and finally show Liam what i'd been playing with, rubbing it with my fingers. A guitar pick, made out of an old iTunes gift cars, bent and torn at the bottom. On the back it has been written, "L&G" Logan and Grace. Liam smiles. " I thought I loved him. But he didn't love me back." I say, and Liam looks bummed.
"He played lacrosse, too. When I look at you," I look him in the eyes, finally shifting my gaze. "You look like him. Hair, face, eyes." He leans in closer. "But you're different. In a good way. I don't know what it is, but you're different than him. I can't put my finger on why." We had been staring into each other's eyes for eternity. He smiles and almost whispers,
"That'd because I love you back." He says and puts a hand on my jaw, tracing it with his thumb. I smile and I lean in, and as our lips press into each others, I feel electricity running through my bones. I see his fangs in my mind, but they are peaceful. I clutch the guitar pick in my hand, trying to contain my joy.
"i love you back." He says again.
Ha, Screw you, Hayden.
