Cassidy's POV
I sit down on the hood of Derek's car and he does so the same. I lay my head on his shoulder and we look up at the now dark blue sky lit like little candles by tiny stars. I sigh and breathe in the midnight air. Derek looks down at me, now in his arms. I smile.
We don't talk, there is too much to talk about. This was nice silent, anyways.
I've been scared to talk. Ever since my banshee incident. I feel as if I open my mouth, another blood curling scream will beckon out, sending everyone into pain.
Derek's ear was fine, of course, but it still scared me. A lot. I don't want to be a banshee if it will hurt people. Lydia said she could help but I'm too overwhelmed for help right now.
"I love you, you know." His voice is raspy and low. I nuzzle into his shoulder.
"I know. I love you, too." He laughs,
"not as much as I love you, though." I laugh,
"We'll see."
"What is that supposed to mean?" He laughs, and I purposely ignore him to keep him in wonder.
Stiles POV
She looked perfect, sitting there on my bed. Her hair was a messy road of curls and my sweatshirt looked better on her than it did anyone. She laughed as I tickled her feet from the ground. It was too late to sleep, but too early to do anything else.
"Why are you on the ground?" She asks, and I sit up from my lying position. I shrug, laughing. I take a seat next to her on the bed and we just tiredly stare at the ground. Her breathing is so soft and peaceful as she sits there. I can't help it. I lean in and kiss her.
She's taken by surprise but then quickly warms up. She smiles and giggles as we do it again. This is what happens most nights. I just sort of happens.
"Promise you won't leave me?" She says after a while. I'm confused.
"what do you mean?" I ask. Her eyes are full of exhaustion and worry.
"Stiles, I don't want you to abandon me." I nod and reassure,
"I won't ever leave you, Paige. I promise."
