Luke

"I don't feel so good." I mumble. Sang and the Guppies look at me with concern, but my brothers know that this is a ruse to go exploring.

It's spy time!

When Tasia said that her brother is out right now, I just about jumped into the air with excitement. I'm disappointed to miss the games, but there will be more of those later. There won't be another chance to go sneaking though, so that has to happen now.

I walk to the bathroom. Waiting there is super boring, but I need to give the others a chance to get settled in playing games. It would be unfortunate if someone came to check on me and then I wasn't there! After five minutes, I creep out of the bathroom and enter Nikolas's room.

I sniff. Ugh, such a typical boy room! It's messy, smelly, and has suspicious looking pizza on a paper plate. Although, there is an unopened candy bar sitting next to it... no Luke, resist the temptation! I can imagine North's face if I told him that I stole a candy bar and ate it while on a mission- it would not be pretty.

I shake my head. It's time to focus! Be a professional- a professional spy that is. I glance around, noting the location of the window and the computer. The room is full of obstacles, making a quick escape difficult if not impossible. What I wouldn't give for some spidey silk right now! I should get Kota working on that.

The laptop sits on top of an assortment of books. I inch my way over, careful not to disturb the stacks of junk around me. I'm like a Girl Scout- I leave no trace. We had to help Jessica with a badge for that a couple of years ago. Agh, FOCUS!

Okay, no thoughts besides spy thoughts. The James Bond theme song plays in the back of my head as I boot up the computer. It takes forever to load, and I can't help but wondering why Nikolas has such an old computer if this family is so rich. I tap my fingers impatiently. The candy bar across the room draws my attention- would he really notice it missing in all this chaos? Yes, if he is anything like me then he definitely would.

The computer finally loads. I rejoice when it doesn't require a password. This guy is so not Academy material! Makes my job easier though, so I'm not complaining. I pull out a flash drive from my pocket and stick it into the USB port. It won't go in! I groan and flip it over to try again. Will I ever stick something into a USB port on the first try? Probably not- only Victor has those magical technology skills.

I start copying over all the data. The little flying mail symbol says that it'll take ten minutes, but I know that these things rarely take the expected amount of time. I settle in for my long winters nap.

Five minutes later, the window still says ten minutes. I mentally compose a little poem to keep myself occupied.

Luke, the greatest spy there ever was

Could pick any lock without a pause,

He could climb any wall,

Survive any brawl,

And take any fall,

No matter how small.

Wait, that doesn't make sense. Shouldn't I be falling from high up? It's much more dramatic that way.

And take any fall,

No matter how tall.

Ah, there we go! I mentally pat myself on the back- Silas may think that he's the joke master, but I'm the rhyme genius! I could start a business- and I already know the slogan.

Do you need a rhyme?

Ask Luke- he's in his rhyme prime!

Give him a dime, and he'll give you a rhyme,

No matter what the time!

I should probably get back to work; my business ventures can wait until later. I check the computer screen- only thirty seconds left to go. In theory, at least.

I hear someone coming down the hallway. Instantly, my heart starts pounding. What should I do? I could pretend to be sick and lie on his bed, but then whoever is coming will see the computer. Or, I could stand in front of the computer and look really suspicious.

Pausing briefly to snag the candy bar, I leap onto the bed. My head has just hit the pillow when the door opens.

"Who are you?" an unfamiliar voice says. I look up to see a boy about our age. He must be Nikolas, which means that I'm royally screwed! He can't look over at his computer- I'll have to distract him.

"I'm Luke, I'm here with the swim team. I'm not feeling good, so I came to rest in your room away from the noise." I explain. Nikolas looks weirded out, but he continues to come into his room regardless. Time for evasive action! I start making gagging noises. Nikolas stops his entry to look at me with disgust.

"Can I have a bucket or something?" I choke out. Comprehension dawns in his eyes and he runs out of the room. I leap out of bed. Lunging for the computer, I hold back a cheer when I notice that it is done copying. I yank out the flash drive and shut down the computer before returning to bed. Nikolas comes back moments later with a bucket.

I smile at the flustered boy. "I'll go and sit in the bathroom so that you can have your room back." I inform him. He looks confused, but hands me the bucket anyway.

"Hope you feel better." he mutters. I thank him and head out. That was way too close for comfort!

I stand in the bathroom and peel the wrapper off the candy bar slowly. Time for a little victory treat! I take the first bite of chocolate, only to gag. Glancing at the wrapper, I cringe when I read the "Sugar Free" label proudly printed on it. What has this world come to? As a successful spy I should have my pick of a treat, and the one I chose isn't even sweet. Hey look, that rhymed!
