"Brianne. Look, there is no time, I need you to come with me." an unfamiliar voice woke me from my broken trance. I ignored the person, my brain still not registering that I wasn't alone anymore.

"Brianne, come on. We are running out of time." said the same voice.

"Bri, come on, please get up." said Rachel.

I heard someone sigh heavily and footsteps shuffling towards me. A warm hand landed on my shoulder, making me jump and look into the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen.

"Who are you?!" I yelled at the man, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"Look, I know you don't trust me, but we need to leave. If the cops find you here you will attract too much attention. We're running out of time."

"You're crazy if you think I'm leaving with you!"

"Bri, please, we need to leave." Rachel pleaded.

"Rachel, che è questo?" <Rachel, who is he?>

"Non so, ma ha qualcosa che devi sentire. Si tratta di tuoi genitori." She explained. <I don't know, but he has something you need to hear. It's about your parents.>

I glared up at the man then looked down at my parents. Nodding my head, I got up and looked around the room. Something white caught my eye on the desk across the room. I walked over and picked it up.

It was a letter.

Addressed to me.

I looked at the mystery man and my best friend. The man stepped forward with his arm held out, motioning for me to give him the letter. I ignored him and took a deep breath. Looking down at my letter i mentally prepared myself to read it.

Brianne,
I know that by the time you read this, we are already be gone. We knew this day was going to happen sooner or later. This isnt easy for you, but just know, that whatever comes your way... you can handle it. You come from a very powerful bloodline. Your heritage will keep you safe, along with Lucas. We assigned him to help protect you in case something like this happened. But I know you can handle yourself. I don,t have much time left, my dear. We love you honey, live your life. Complete your legacy. We left something in my jewelry box for you, its to help you develope your abilities. Once you get powerful enough, you wont need it. Keep it for me, for us. Stay with Lucas, trust no one except for yourself and him. We love you, honey. Stay safe. Be careful. Lucas will explain the rest to you.

Your mother.

By the time I finished reading the letter, tears poured from my eyes; soaking the letter. I took one last look at my mothers handwriting and folded the small peice of paper and tucked it tightly in my pocket. Walking to mom's jewelry box, I took a deep breath and opened it. I searched every peice of jewelry inside and stopped when my eyes landed on an armband that looked like vines. I knew this was the peice of jewelry mom was talking about. My gut was always right. I grabbed the band and turned around to look at the audience in the room.

"You're Lucas, aren't you?" I looked into his beautiful blue eyes, suddenly losing all breath inhabiting in my lungs.

"Yes, but I would really love to explain to you whats going on, but we need to go. The police will be here very soon."

I nodded and followed Lucas and Rachel out of the house. Looking back at my parents once more I wiped away my tears. They weren't going to help. They weren't going to help me find my parents' murderers. But I will.

A/N~ Yes, it was a short chapter but I couldn't find a better way to end the chapter. The picture above is the arm band Brianne's mother gave her.
