Six hours. That's how long I had until I had to face Erebus. I was beyond nervous about this. I knew my answer; I was never leaving my family.
I couldn't help but wonder what Erebus would do when he got his answer. He seemed so dead set on having me.
Well, he's not gonna get me.
I woke up late this morning. Lucas and I did nothing but cuddle for hours on end in our room. He suggested we got up and go see the family. I didn't want to be selfish so I did.
I didn't want to explain everything to my family just yet. I wanted to spend these last hours with them without worry. I didn't want them to worry about me. I would be fine.
I would tell them after I meet him. If nothing happens to me anyway...
"You okay?" Lucas asked me while on our way downstairs.
"No. I'm so worried about what will happen."
"Don't. I will make sure nothing happens. I will be close by, watching you the whole time."
I nodded my head and continued to the family room after grabbing some freshly baked cinnamon rolls. I looked at Lucas and raised my eyebrow. It was a few hours past noon. How was breakfast freshly baked?
Lucas kissed me on the cheek and grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the kitchen.
When we entered the family room everyone stopped their conversations and looked straight at me. I smiled sheepishly and waved my hands shyly.
"Ciao." <Hello. >
"Oh no, she's nervous. What's going on?" Rachel asked.
"You know me so well. It's nothing you all need to worry about. I promise."
"Oh my god. She's pregnant!" My Aunt Maggie gasped.
"No! I'm definitely not pregnant." Lucas and I chuckled and looked at each other.
"Then are you getting married?" She asked. I saw Alma's eyes widen.
"Actually, I was getting there." I heard Lucas say before I could open my mouth.
I looked at him just to see him bend down on one knee. I covered my mouth with my hands to try and conceal the gasp that escaped. Tears sprung into my eyes and I wiped them away so I could see clearly.
"Brianne Michaels. You we're always perfect to me. From the moment I first found you to this moment right here. I fell in love with you the day I met you. And when we had our first fight, I saw the raw desire to protect anyone that you cared for. You have this personality that is so alluring. Not only are you gorgeous on the outside, but on the inside too. You're the most compassionate person I've ever met. You don't stop worrying for your family. You have this drive in you that never let's you quit anything you put your mind to. Every girl I've ever met would crumble under the weight you have on your shoulders, and yet, you still stand stronger than anyone Ive ever met. You're perfect. I'd never want to change anything about you. Except one thing; your last name. Marry, me. Let me make you the most perfect woman alive."
I lost it. Tears poured down my face as I nodded my head vigorously. I jumped into his embrace and kissed him senseless. When I pulled back to breathe I whispered 'yes' over and over again.
He slipped the most beautiful diamond ring on my finger. It wasn't a traditional diamond ring. The rose gold band was shaped as a vine wrapping around the base of my finger. The leafs held the diamonds. It was absolutely perfect.
