Camila's POV
Y/n was going to be on Ellen. It's been a month since I found her at her apartment after receiving her call. I was so happy I was in the neighborhood and arrived in time. She did as I said and got herself some help. She's been talking to a grief therapist and a regular therapist for a while now.She wrote a new song and she was going to debut it on Ellen. It was going to be on her new album. I was so proud of her, she moved on and is now getting better slowly.
I was sitting in the crowd of Ellen with the girls. We were watching as Ellen was fixing to introduce her.
"And now! After a two months of hiatus here is Y/n Y/ln!"
Y/n walked out to Something Big, waving to the cheering audience. She hugged Ellen and then sat down in the chair across from her.
"Hey, Y/n, how have you been doing?" She asked me. Y/n smiled at Ellen.
"I've been doing better, thanks. I'm slowly coming to terms with everything and getting a lot of help from friends and family and of course my wonderful girlfriend, Camila," Y/n said with a smile.
"You and Camila seem pretty much in love," Ellen laughed and Y/n grinned happily.
"We are. I really love her and I'm so happy she stayed with me. I was in a terrible state when I lost Shawn and said some pretty terrible things and to know that she loves me enough to stay with me even after everything I said is amazing. She's amazing and I can't be happier to have her in my life," Y/n grinned.
Dinah nudged my shoulder and I smiled, blushing at Y/n's words.
"That's so cute. Honestly you guys are like life goals," Ellen said.
"Us?! You and your wife are life goals," Y/n said laughing. Ellen laughed as well.
"We are, aren't we?" Ellen said causing the audience to laugh,"Now tell us about your new song."
"Uh it's called You Found Me. It's basically about being in a dark place and having that one special person who finds you and saves you," as Y/n was explaining the song she was looking at me.
"That sounds like a very meaningful song and you're debuting it here before it's released, right?"
"Yeah that's right," Y/n nodded.
"Okay well how about you go get set up!"
Y/n stood up and walked off the stage as Ellen looked at the camera.
"We'll be back with Y/n Y/ln singing her new song You Found Me," Ellen spoke to a camera, the crowd was cheering.
"Aw Y/n wrote a song for you!" Dinah laughed, as she poked me in the side.
"All the songs Y/n writes are about Camila," Normani laughed,"Are you really that surprised?"
"You right you right," Dinah said, causing the girls and I to laugh.
"And we're back! Here is Y/n Y/ln singing her new single You Found Me." Ellen motioned over to the other stage.
There Y/n sat at a piano she had a drummer and a guitarist. Y/n began playing the piano intro. She placed her lips close to the mic then she sang.
[Verse 1]
I found God
On the corner of First and Amistad
Where the west
Was all but wonShe closed her eyes as she sang, her voice was low but smooth. Her words were heard clearly.
All alone
Smoking his last cigarette
I said, "Where you been?"
He said, "Ask anything."She played the piano, as her voice got slightly powerfully.
[Verse 2]
Where were you
When everything was falling apart?
All my days
Were spent by the telephoneShe opened her eyes singing with power, her voice was portraying a lot passion.
That never rang
And all I needed was a call
That never came
To the corner of First and AmistadThe drums and the guitar joined in with Y/n as she sang the chorus. She closed her eyes, singing with power.
[Chorus:]
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lyin' on the floor
Surrounded, surroundedShe sang, playing the piano powerfully.
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found meShe opened her eyes and they glanced over the stage as she sang into the mic, her lips pressed against the mic. The drums and the guitar played along with her.
[Verse 3]
In the end
Everyone ends up alone
Losing her
The only one who's ever known
Who I am
Who I'm not, who I wanna be
No way to know
How long she will be next to meShe closed her eyes again, sing the chorus powerfully. She tilted her head as she sang into the mic.
[Chorus:]
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lyin' on the floor
Surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found meShe sang lowly, and almost quietly as she sang the next part.
[Bridge]
Early morning
The city breaks
I've been callin'
For years and years and years and yearsShe sang powerfully.
And you never left me no messages
You never send me no letters
You got some kind of nerve
Taking all I wantShe sang the next part slowly as she opened her eyes and her eyes found me. She looked at me. She was the only one playing and as she looked at me as she sang I could feel all the emotion she was pouring into the song.
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lyin' on the floor
Where were you? Where were you?The drums and the guitar joined in again, as she played the piano her voice growing with with power.
Lost and insecure
You found me, you found me
Lyin' on the floor
Surrounded, surroundedShe pressed her lips against the mic as she sang and I could see her eyes glistening with tears.
Why'd you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little lateShe held onto the final note of the next line as she is squeezed her eyes shut.
You found me, you found me
She opened her eyes as she slowly ended the song, her voice fading.
Why'd you have to wait?
To find me, to find meY/n smiled at me, and I returned her smile happily.
I mouthed "I love you." to her and she mouthed the words back.
This gave me hope. Hope that everything will get better. As long as I continue to love and support Y/n everything should work out. It shouldn't be hard at all.
